Famous Greek Film Director Theo Angelopoulos Has Passed Away After Road Accident

Shame. We're sure he had so much more to share.

Shortly after the Oscar nominees were announced yesterday, Greek award-winning film director Theo Angelopoulos was in a terrible accident in Athens, Greece. The 77-year-old filmmaker behind such beloved pictures as "Palme d'Or" and the 1998 Cannes Film Festival for "Eternity and a Day" was hit by a motorcycle while crossing a street near the set of his latest film, "The Other Sea."

He sadly sustained far worse head injuries than he could ever recover from and passed away in the hospital last night.

Very sad. He was a true artist and we're sure his loss is felt by all those in the film community. Our condolences go out to his family, friends and fans who will miss him dearly.

Your sure huh? Cuz you knew him so well? I'll bet you have no clue who this guy is but when stealing from reputable sites, you came accross an article.

Perez, Perez, you have so little culture.
He never made any film called «Palme d'or».
He WON the Palme d'or at the Cannes festival
    for Eternity and a day.

Re: overthere – I saw that too - surely Perez has heard of the Palme D'Or? Guess not. That is a pretty big faux pas.
