Shirley MacLaine Joins Emmy/Golden Globe Award-Winning Series Downton Abbey!

Looks like this Emmy/Golden Globe award-winning series now has another OSCAR winning actress!
We've just learned that Shirley MacLaine has joined the cast of Downton Abbey for its third season, which premieres on UK network ITV this fall! U.S. audiences will be able to check out the show on PBS' Masterpiece Classic in early 2013.
Shirley is set to star as Martha Levinson, the "mother of American-born Lady Grantham (Elizabeth McGovern)."
Here's what executive producer Gareth Neame had to say about Shirley joining the show in a statement:
"My late grandfather directed Shirley MacLaine in Gambit in 1966 so it is a delight for me that she will be joining us on Downton Abbey."
How sweet! We wish Shirley and the entire show's cast/crew luck with the upcoming season…although we're sure they'll be just fine AND they'll prob win like a thousand more awards!
Will U check out Shirley MacLaine when she joins Downton Abbey???

Maggie Smith is an Oscar winning actress.
She also happens to be a main cast member.
Uh, Maggie Smith plays one of the main characters on this show and she has won 2 oscars…
I love Downton Abbey, I also love Shirley
but hope the character Martha Levinson will not turn out to be some old yenta who is set to battle the Dowarger (Maggie Smith)
Downton Abby is a great program. I hope Shirley brings her "A" game. She'll need it.
