Stretch Armstrong Movie Picked Up By New Studio, But Taylor Lautner Remains Dropped

Aww! Everyone together now:

Whomp, whomp!

When Hasbro jumped on board with Universal Pictures, a lot of things happened at once. First, Hasbro did a happy dance to get connected with a major studio. Then, Unviersal shook things WAY up by dropping or shelving nearly every project they had in development based on their toys. One of the first to go was the Taylor Lautner-vehicle Stretch Armstrong.

The project has since been picked up by Relativity Media, but word has it, Taylor was not asked by the studio to be picked up along with it. While Lautner's camp insists it was their "choice" not to sign back onto the movie, many speculate that Relativity didn't want him, after his movie Abduction failed to impress at the box office.

In other words, this kid is going to have a rough go at it post-Twilight. Jacob Black was the role of his lifetime, but if he can't get better projects lined-up, it might be his only one.

what bs 'abduction' was fine nothing wrong with it maybe he should be in roles with other actors instead of being forced to carry the entire movie this kid is hot as all shit the problem was they didnt remove his tshirt in the fim he makes one hell of a leading man but maybe he just needed to be alongside some other stars to start out.. i only got the movie because he was in it and hes wayyyy too young for me so he has a fan base..

Nor should he have a career post-Twilight. His acting is horrendous. What his flop Abduction proved, is that he has no star power. His fan-base is tied to the Twilight franchise only. Expect to see lots of direct-to-DVD movies from him in the future.

Is anyone really surprised by this. He cannot act for shit. Abduction was a total embarrassment. I am sure alot of people in Hollywood are trying to distance themselves from him. Once the whole "Twilight" thing ends, so will his career.

How can you guys say something that harsh. Sure twilight is a one in a lifetime role, but that doesn't mean that he won't have better movies in the future. Oh and he can act. Abduction was not the right movie for him. There was nothing wrong with the movie, it's just the awkward personality of his character didn't flow with his personality in real life. But the kid can act, regardless. Saying someone can't act is harsh. He seems to have proven himself worthy. He got picked up for the other 3 twilight movies after twilight. Just sayin'…

Re: perez posse member 777 – Agreed! I saw Abduction and the problem wasn't him, it was the writing in general. You could've put Matt Damon or Christian Bale as the lead and it still would have been terrible. Taylor just made a mistake with taking the first non Twilight gig he could get because he wanted to prove that he was more than just "Jacob Black". Unfortunately for him, the movie was horribly written.
