Washington has moved one step closer to becoming the next state to support marriage equality!

The House Judiciary Committee passed its gay marriage bill today with a 7-6 vote.

The vote was split straight down the party lines, with 7 Democrats voting yes and 6 Republicans voting no.

Republicans tried to amend the bill three times. One amendment suggested would have allowed private businesses and individuals to an religious exemption.

The bill now moves to a fiscal commitee while the Senate will have a full vote tomorrow.

The current count of votes believes the bill will pass!

Good luck, Washington!

Re: AttFinch – You are an idiot! Republicans are hateful? Really? Why do Republicans donate 4 X what the liberal loons do?Just because someone doesn't agree with you means they are hateful? You have to be a pay to post Obama worker. No one could be that stupid to say the things you do on here.

i like 100bill poster who has to capitalize his "i believe in a man in the sky based on an old book" thoughts like a typical prosletyzing 'churchie'. why not keep it to yourself and go to heaven and enjoy it. think how much more cloud space you'll have if us non believers dont crowd-up the joynt. what a shocker the party of jesus went completely against it.think they're still pro 'flat earth" too. who could begin to care what gay people do in their lives.

Re: JennyJJJ – no a difference of opinion does not automatically make someone a hateful person, but when people in political positions who are suppose to represent all law abiding tax paying americans try to pass laws that keep certain people from having the same rights i would consider that backwards and hateful. it is mind boggling in this day and age that people can be treated as second class citizens because of what they might do in the privacy of their own homes. i have no idea what you might do sexually and don't care to but as long as it's between consenting adults and not unlawful then you should not be prejudiced against and the same should go gay people. republicans need to stay the fuck out of peoples bedrooms!!!!!!!!!
