Rooney Mara Saves The Day! Soderbergh's Pill-Poppin' Movie Gets Financing Again!!

| Filed under: Film FlickersJude LawBusiness BlitzRooney Mara

rooney mara soderbergh bitter pill financing

It was pretty embarrassing when Steven Soderbergh's film lost financing as soon as Annapurna found out Blake Lively could be the star.

So Rooney Mara was cast instead to play Channing Tatum's husband and now just a day after hearing that news, financing is back in the picture!! Thanks to Endgame Entertainment!!

The film, which is now titled Bitter Pill (formerly known as Side Effects), will also star Jude Law and Catherine Zeta-Jones as long as their negotiations end well!!

We've discussed the plot many times before, but just in case some of U missed it… Rooney plays a depressed wife who doesn't like the idea of her husband (Channy) coming home from jail. So she finds solace in prescription pills and ends up in a whole world of trouble!! Yikes!!

Hmm… kind of sounds like a documentary on Hollywood housewives, LOL!!

Mmm too bad I think Blake Lively would've been very good… If Soderbergh has that much trouble financing a film it tells you a lot about the industry considering his track record. One flop and it's off. Not a great petrie dish for meaty content.

Perez, don't you mean Rooney Mara will portray Channing Tatum's wife and not his husband. I beg you to proofread before posting!

And I find it hard to believe that this production company pulled out just because Blake Lively was considered for the lead. It's not her fault that Green Lantern tanked.

This makes me happy. Blake Lively is just the worst, and she needs to go away forever.

Interesting cast and the plot sounds intriguing…can't wait to see what this is like. Oh and I think it will be eons better with Rooney instead of Blake.

"to play Channing Tatum's husband" I know that's your wet dream Perez, but WTF? you need to check before you post.
