The Artist's Jean Dujardin Pisses Off France With His New Movie's Controversial Ad Campaign!

artist star gets intro trouble for ads in france

Oh, please! There's nothing wrong with this ad! He's clearly assisting her with some upside down vertical push-ups! Ha!

The Artist star Jean Dujardin has gotten into some trouble in France for the provocative ad campaign for his upcoming movie The Players (above).

People have been complaining about the ads for the film because they feature Dujardin and his co-writer/director/actor Gilles Lellouche in "compromising positions that many argue are degrading for women."

IN FACT, people have been complaining so much, that the ads are going to get taken down.

Here's what France's authority for the professional regulation of advertising head Stephane Martin had to say about the ads:

"We already feel that this campaign is against the rules…even if it relates to the subject of the film, a comedy about adultery. As a preventative measure, we’ve already counseled JC Decaux, who are in charge of the billboards, to take them down."

What do U think? Do U approve of Jean Dujardin's ad campaign???

Ummmm that is one of the BEST positions ever. Put me in that "compromising position" any day and "degrade" me all you want.

  2. 2

    Can you say CHEESE

  3. 3

I have definitely seen worse. But, I will point out that Perez, who is all for equality for gays, has no problem promoting videos and other material that is outrageously misogynistic. How can you preach for an end to discrimination when you have no problem with videos that call women 'ho' or 'bitch', and treat them as little more than disposable sex toys?

Re: rosebud99 – Then I truly believe you need to bash Rosa Parks, MLK Jr…well, anyone, really. When MLK Jr. was preaching about equal rights, there were probably starving children in Africa. He wasn't helping them so shame on him…..right?

That's an overstatement and I deeply respect the people I listed. But it can't all be done.

And if you think this is bad, then turn on the Jersey Shore. Just saying…

But her position..if she was flipped around, then maybe it would be worse…but seriously…who wouldn't enjoy this?

ROTFLOL! I have to get a copy of this. I have to say this is hilarious.

Re: blondly7 – I respect that Perez has a favorite cause - I don't expect him to be an advocate for everyone, but when he calls an extremely misogynistic song a 'new anthem', he is himself being a misogynist. MLK did not talk about starving kids in Africa, but he didn't make jokes about them either. I think you kinda missed my point. And no, I will never turn on Jersey Shore.

Jean Dujardin is freaking hot…Oh theres nothing wrong with the poster have anyone ever seen ads for that show hung or any chanel, armani, or any other fashion ad pretty risque.

How is having sex with a hot man degrading to women?!? This ad looks fun and naughty. There is nothing demeaning about it.

It seems pretty silly to make a fuss about this ad when there are so many misogynistic films depicting far worse abuse and degradation of women that no one seems to be trying to ban.

This movie reeks of desperation and "shock" to sell..

  11. 11

i love this poster, and clearly the women has the time of her life, according to how she holds her feet… :D
i would love to be "degraded" from mister dujardin like this. no problem with it at all. the problem is on these french feminists who have never been "degraded" like this…!

  12. 12

I think most women agree that we would not mind Jean having us in that position! Degrading? I have definitely seen worse. I think it is promoting giving back!!

  13. 13

    I like it.

  14. 14

WHAT is this world coming to when the French are upset over sex……….LOVE the poster. wish i was in her position! literally/figuratively! bring it!!

  15. 15

I'm french i'm a women i've seen those posters around and it didn't shock me at all….
Like abodediva said… We're French we're not shock about sex, there's nothing shocking about this poster and we've seen much worse (DSK anyone?….)

  16. 16

I understand their point of view, but I still don't find this poster very offensive. There is a thin line between appropriate and inappropriate when it comes to humour, and I really don't think they've crossed it with this one.

  17. 17

    Re: abodediva – Good one.

  18. 18

    Hot

  19. 19

He's smokin' hot! Check out the movie trailer on Youtube. The poster is so tame compared to the trailer. for adult eyes only!
