Lifetime Remake Of The Blue Lagoon Casts Young Leads

Blue Lagoon cast

And none of them are Courtney Stodden!!! Our dreams are crushed! LOL!

So Lifetime, which has been developing this contemporary reboot since 2004, has finally cast the leads for The Blue Lagoon.

Australian actors Brenton Thwaites and Indiana Evans are the third set of youngsters picked to be stranded on a dessert island together, fall in love and make whoopee. The newcomers, who starred together in Australian soap opera Home and Away, will follow in the footsteps of Brooke Shields, Christopher Atkins, Brian Krause and Milla Jovovich.

If history repeats itself, this role will be the beginning of Indiana's rise to international stardom, while Brenton will probably just fade away like the other two male actors who have played Richard in the past.

Are U looking forward to this made-for-TV remake of The Blue Lagoon?

If there is no full frontal like in the original, I don't want to see it!

Wow, very strange to come here and hear about a show I'll be watching in 2 hours… Home and Away also provided the world with Chris Hemsworth… YAY H&A! But other than that… it's the most painful half hour of tv a night. A painful half hour I never miss. FML

Seriously? WHY can't people just pop in the old video, or dvd… and watch the original!!! The second one never should have been made in the first place, lil alone a 3rd one!!!! Its movies like these that ruin the classic status of the old ones! And if its to make todays youth appreciate the old movies, just let em watch the friggin OLD ones!!! GOSH!

they didnt star together on Home & Away.. Indiana left the show years ago and Brenton only recently joined the cast last year. Both gorgeous individuals though, hopefully they get their kit off haha.

First off, this girl is probably plucked from her daytime job working behind the counter in a clothing store for her looks.
Second off, nobody can top the original.
Say about it or Brooke Shields whatever your want but she looked like a goddess in it and so was her attitude in interviews.
Third off, as I said, it appears that there's no real creativity or originality in Hollywood anymore.
People are too stupid too write good scripts themselves so they recycle a movie which was nothing wrong with and then only modernize or darken it.
It's completely stupid and it's what I absolutely hate about Hollywood today.
It's like Valentino said, there's no class in Hollywood anymore… or artists.

Some movie makers are trying to reach a newer audience by re-making some of the all time great films, and I see no harm as long as they are executed well. I hated the new "arthur" but I loved both blue lagoons and am excited to see a new version of it. I just saw "the grey" which was just about a re-make of the 1993 movie "alive" and I really enjoyed it.
I will wait until I see this new remake of the blue lagoon to have an opinion about it. As long as movies are being made and creating jobs, I am happy. I am a total movie junkie!
