It's Not Just Barbie Dolls! Iran Places A Ban On Simpsons Toys!

simpsons toys banned in iran

Tough times for toys in Iran!

Last month, we heard the unfortunate news that Iranian "morality police" have been trying to ban the sale of Barbie dolls in their country.

Now, we've learned that Iran has placed a ban on the sale of Simpsons toys as well!

Here's what Iranian official Mohammad Hossein Farjoo had to say about it:

"The Simpsons dolls are merchandise from an animated series, of which some episodes are even banned in Europe and America."

"We do not want to promote this cartoon by importing the toys."

And more from Farjoo:

"Imports of all kinds of dolls that display full adult figures are banned because they promote Western culture."

While we understand that The Simpsons aren't necessarily positive role models for children, it definitely makes us nervous that Iran is continuing to ban toys/dolls in their country.

It sounds like this is going to become an increasingly big issue as time goes on.

What do U think? Should it be okay for a country to regulate what toys children can play with???

Rofl, that entire region needs to be leveled with a nuke and then us, England, Australia can split up the natural resources we recover. These barbarians are literally a thousand years behind the rest of the world..quite sad really.

Fun fact: Pokemon toys are specified as a prohibited item in Saudi Arabia.

That said are we shocked that Iran would ban stuff? They want to control their masses.
