I can't believe I'm actually agreeing with the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals on something. Normally, their rulings are absolutely ridiculous, but this time, they finally got it right.

How did they get it right? Marriage is not a RIGHT it is a PRIVILEGE

  3. 3

It won't last long…..those of us with moral values will not allow this to continue….

we gave you civil unions…..be happy you got that much….

Too bad it still might be years before gays are able to marry. Too many old prudes in office and what not

    Re: ohpleaseshutup – I can't believe it either……DUMBASS!

Re: REPUB – your wrong…..marriage is a committment before God to honor each other………that is not a privilege….it is a life long committment..

gays have civil unions……they need to get over it…..straights will never pretend gays are normal…..because they are not…..get therapy.

Finally. For everyone opposing this, it will fully happen around the country. It's gonna be so tiring to be a troll and surviving on hateraide.

Re: REPUB – no one but you and i realize this fact. in another earlier post i asked anyone to quote the article that granted the "right" all they could come up with was 14th. actually if you want to take the seperation clause seriously the govt should have zero to say about marriage of any kind. it is simply a codification of a religious rule.

Re: triple M – nope you are wrong. if you read the actual document you'll not find the word

Divorce is for straight couples. Marriage is for everybody. Of course the supremes are waiting gleefully to smack this down.

  11. 11

if you allow gays to marry, how can you forbid polygamy, or bestiality, or pedophilia, all of which are less disgusting that homosexuality.

Re: raypearson – It doesn't have to be in the constitution. The ninth amendment states that rights not mentioned in the constitution can not be allowed to some but denied to others. This includes all rights. Marriage, your argument about driver's licenses (everyone is allowed to take the test; passing is a different story). Considering that the constitution wasn't written 5 years ago, there's plausible reasoning that everything that we take as rights (privileges, if you will, they mean the same thing. Look it up) today weren't considered or weren't even invented. At the very least we all have the right to life liberty and the pursuit of happiness; marriage falls under one or all of those categories for most people. Denying people marriage is essentially denying them their rights.

Re: triple M – of course, maybe you should start prop 9 for banning divorce to defense this sacred act

    Re: triple M
Right AND wrong. In the 18th century Napoleon implemeted marriage by the state (and also divorce) to have a marriage without the Church/God. Since then only the weddings by teh state count. Try to register a wedding only be done by a priest. There always has to be state approval first to be valid. The state rules the country, not the Church. Separation of church and state!
