And we thought her Frans Hal sold for a lot…
We've just learned that Elizabeth Taylor's unsigned Vincent Van Gogh piece Vue de l’Asile et de la Chapelle de Saint-Rémy has sold for $16 million to a mystery buyer at Christie's! OMFG!!!
Liz purchased the painting back in 1963, and according to Christie's International in London, she kept the painting hanging above her mantle all her life.
Other artworks which belonged to Liz that sold yesterday include Camille Pissarro's Pommiers à Éragny, which went for $4.6 million, and Edgar Degas' Autoportait, which sold for $1.1 million.
35 more pieces from Liz will go up for auction today.
Good luck, wealthy art lovers!!!!
