Well, this must be a HUGE relief to her!

Russell Brand's lawyer officially filed the final papers for his divorce from Katy Perry yesterday, and although the pair did not have a pre-nup in place - which means that he could make off with $20 million of her money if he exercised his community property rights - the comedian apparently will NOT be taking any of it!

A source explains:

"This divorce is as amicable as it gets, and Russell was a mensch (Yiddish for a good person)."

Phew!

We're sure this whole process has been difficult enough for them both, so we're glad that they're choosing to take the high road and just move forward with as few more complications as possible!

Stay strong, you two!

That's because he has class, but unfortunately, his yayo snorting ex-wife lacks it..

  2. 2

I was kinda hoping he would take as much as he could get and donate to a charity that supports girls education. (as opposed to Katy's hyper-sexualization)

  3. 3

He should have taken every dime he can get. "Don't get mad, get everything."

I never thought for a moment that he would take any of her money. He's a decent man and has behaved with dignity throughout the separation. He has never talked or his "close sources"( like Katy's PR team does) about the divorce and what happened between them. I honestly believe he will always care for her. I hope he can find a girl who is more supportive of his sobriety and respects him.

  6. 6

Yup, that's you, always man hating. This guy did the most honorable thing a celeb has probably ever done and turned down 20 million dollars that he has a right too, and all you can say is "good job guys"? She isn't doing shit, it's all him, and he should be commended for not being just like all those gold digging worthless women.

I'm not at all surprised that Russell doesn't want any of her money. He's been nothing but a gentleman since the divorce. Russell did the decent thing in this sad situation - they came together through love & left with respect… Even though I don't think that Katy respects or cares about him. Have u seen her at the Super bowl? She was flirting with all the football players, Tebow, Newton, Beckum and was partying until 4am. Kudos to him and I hope good things happen to him down the road. #Karma

  8. 8

he was lucky enough to get to jack off between those grade a boobies

  9. 9

He WILL have Great karma-shine on Russell dude! May your Life be Blessed!

  10. 10

i never liked him with her anyways, it is her hard earned money so really its just being a decent human being

He's not an obnoxious materialistic person. He's content with what he has. Thats enough for him, which is nice to see. He's a real gentleman and not the gold digger the press made him out to potentially be. Russell is a fine example of a real man. I'm impressed.

  12. 12

Notice, its always the women that attempt to get take everything they can from a man? when a woman gets scorned she goes irrational mode (even worse than normal) plus with friends egging her on with "take that pig for everything hes worth" and of course the sexist courts rule in the woman's favor..He should of took her for everything he was entitled to..Because, you women want equality right? Oh wait, you only cry sexism and equality when its convenient for you, i forgot.

  13. 13

"Frankly my dear, you can shove it up your arse"…… Russell's last words to Katy.

  14. 14

Good for him. He has class and morals. Too bad they couldn't make it work. They may have been good for each other. At least he wasn't a greedy troll about the money.

  15. 15

She is lucky she married someone so honourable. He could've been taken a huge amount of money. I believe he really loves Katy and not her money and is showing her the honesty of his love. How sad…

  16. 16

Such a bad decision, Katy. The guy was a keeper. Some people would PAY millions to get a partner who truly loves them.

  17. 17

If this situation were reversed she would've taken ALL of it. He is better than her.

  18. 18

He should've taken it. She's completely obnoxious and annoying. That money could have been used to help people and educate young girls to show they could be more than some half-naked bimbo making out with other half-naked bimbos for attention and to rebel against their uber-religious parents.

Hell, if he'd blown it all on coke, I would've been fine with it.

  19. 19

wow this came as a shock to me, I am glad to hear that at least some celebrities aren't money hungry :) classy move by Brand.

Re: rosebud99 – So Russell was the sex addict, yet you are bashing Katy for being "sexual"…? please, picking on a woman for being free and confident….??who cares. Money towards women causes is always good to support women, I agree with that…to teach independence, education, strength and confidence. That way, so many would not marry the wrong man and get into a jam…as we see time and time again. Also, Russell does not deserve one penny of his more successful former wife. Let's face it, they coupled up and then got tired of one another…got to know each other and said "no"….perhaps heteros should take more time dating before getting married…just a thought.

  21. 21

He is actually quite the sweet guy! I didn't think he would take her money. He cares about her, wants to stay friends, but the marriage just didn't work.

  22. 22

    Re: rosebud99 – If only.

  23. 23

Re: Gay Republican – Agree. This applies to Russell since he's had to put up with that Kunt of an (ex) wife, who goes by the name of Perry.

  24. 24

I hope he finds a really sweet woman one day. Moving on Russell..

  25. 25

Re: NookiesWA – I completely agree with you. Women are more catty, backstabbing and generally crazy when they feel they have been done wrong. Something like taking every single dime from an ex-husband when the reason for a divorce isn't extreme is a solution that is applied to everything they do to get "revenge": strip the person's dignity and take everything from them. I find it disgusting and I think women like that can really learn something from someone like Russell.

  26. 26

this is no surprise. he's a good guy and people should give him a break. it seems like they're both being pretty mature about it, which makes a change in this day and age. there's usually been copious mug-slinging by this point.

  27. 27

i wish my ex had some class. He's taking half of everything I worked so hard for while he sat around not doing anything.

  28. 28

I have NEVER like Kunty Perry. Russell Brand gets on my nerves, but you could always tell in interviews that he did love her, and it even shows now that he didn't get with her for the money. I really do think that his heart is broken and Kunty couldn't give a shit less.

  29. 29

Re: sanfran1 – But yet women are always entitled to half of everything the majority of the time higher earning male? Shut up idiot.

  30. 30

Re: Jen120 – and 9 out of 10 divorces men get boned hard. You can thank feminism..I mean after all you want equality right? Riiight?

He does more than well enough financially himself. It's the honorable thing to do, considering that. The split doesn't make HER the bad person, either…I just don't think she was ready to pop out a family at this stage of her young career. It was timing, pure and simple, imo. She'll miss him more in light of this, and vice versa.

  32. 32

not gonna lie, 20 million is a fuckload of dough, classy move on his part

  33. 33

Who cares? He has a career of his own! He was known before he ever got with Katy and does not need any of her money.

  34. 34

You should have took that dumb bitches money man!! She doesnt deserve any of it anyway it would have been awesome if he just took it and donated all of it to something he believed in, like cancer research or something. Wrong move player :)

  35. 35

Re: NookiesWA – Ha I don't want equality! I hate the fact that I have to work I would love to sit at home and never need a job! Fuck equality I don't need it

  36. 36

Re: NookiesWA – Dude you need to chill the fuck out with the comments though I'm guessing you are gay or something, not that there is anything wrong with that, but you dont need to go around spouting hate for females because not every woman is like that either. And usually the divorces occur in that manner because the man cant keep his dick to himself and has to stick it in the first slut that looks at him sideways. So please quit with the whining and bitching and get over it. K thx
