Well, if she's gonna turn to anyone, we totally expect it to be the "consciously uncoupling" star!
Because, DUH! Who better to understand Beyoncé's pain than the Goop author?!
Hear that? That's the sound of every Lea Michele die-hard fan on the planet holding their breath and waiting to hear the answer to the question. Exhale friends, because the answer is …
When word got around that Spring Awakening was being made into a movie, the obvious choices for the leads were the kids who made the musical famous on Broadway, namely Lea and her bestie friend Jonathan Groff. While The Groff's name isn't being thrown around in casting discussions (so we know), director McG spilled at the premiere of This Means War last night that Princess Lea has been approached for the part of Wendla … and she's considering it! According to McG:
"We're talking to Lea Michele because she made the role of Wendla famous and we'll see if that pans out and works with the timing of her schedule on [Glee]. I love Lea; we've talked about it. When I first got turned onto the show she was in it so it's her voice that echoes in my heart. I really think she's wonderful and we'll see where it takes us."
Don't take this the wrong way G, but we're not onboard with this … UNLESS you get The Groff.
Those two are a package deal. You cannot have one in the show without the other. Hell, they both started and ended in the Broadway production at the same time. They couldn't bare to see one of them continue on without the other and neither could we. So, either sign them both or don't bother. For devoted fans, it just won't be the same without them together, so you might as well start fresh.
With that said, God do we hope they do it! We never got to see the stage production and have always wanted to. Youtube doesn't really do them justice!
