    What?! I know she had a problem with addiction (and I'm not saying she died of an overdose or anything), but she wasn't even 50 yet. This is shocking. R.I.P Whitney, the music world lost a great voice.

    She may have been a technically-accomplished singer, but her and Pariah Carey have ruined singing in general. Thanks to them, R&B has been stripped of its soul, and replaced with the female equivalent of mindless muscle flexing.

    I feel bad for Whitney the (former) person and her family, as this is indeed tragic, but her "diva" singing style and the endless parade of wannabee's it spawned irritate me to no end.

    if you like her or not, doesnt matter, she was first a person, had feelings, loved, lost, and struggled…..please lite a candle tonight and tell your loved ones you love them. I love you whitney, you raised me and helped me though alot.     Whitney Houston's gift of music is a tremendous part of my life's soundtrack. This woman had her demons but I cannot responsibly speak to that as I was not fortunate enough to know her personally. Her voice and music are timeless, she is revered by the world as she brought only happiness, joy and pleasure to so many through her music. She shared her gift with me and for this I am grateful. Peace to her loved ones.

    Re: Jalenridge – Sadly, each of us is responsible for whatever happens in our lives. Blaming another person makes a victim and holding on to that keeps victims in place. It wasn't Bobby Browns "fault". If you need to assign fault, maybe it was the fault of all the people who put such great expectaions on her……….the fans…….I can't imagaine the courage it takes to be a performer but I am grateful that Whitney and so many others do.
