Everything seemed fine according to Whitney Houston's mother Cissy Houston and cousin Dionne Warwick.

Cissy spoke with her daughter just 25-30 minutes before Whitney died and nothing seemed out of the ordinary. The two apparently chatted about attending Clive Davis' pre-Grammy party later that night.

Dionne, who always remained close with Whitney, had also spoken to her just a few hours before to make sure that they were sitting at the same table at Clive's event. There were no signs of any trouble.

The two (seen above) performed a lovely duet together at Clive's pre-Grammy party last year. Back in 2011, we posted a video of their performance and noted that this may have possibly been a new start for Whitney.

Since hearing the tragic news, Dionne's people say that she is inconsolable and is an "absolute mess."

Her mother Cissy is said to be "hysterical."

As we can imagine, the news of Whitney's death is not only devastating to her fans and to the music industry, but this must be gut-wrenching for her family.

Whitney was only 48 when she died.

Rest in peace. Deepest condolences to family and friends.

Just like Michael Jackson another one bites the dust because of drugs.

This is not surprising….I feel sorry for her daughter….not Whitney.

I'm so sorry for their loss.

Bobbi is lucky they did not let her see her Mom. That image would be burned in her brain forver. Wet, blue, lifeless, distended belly from the CPR, covered with a towel with police looking for evidence. It is better for her that she sees her at the funeral home when at least they have her prepared for viewing.

It's a hard thing to accept but the gruesome details she doesn't need to experience.

According to all the reports going around, Whitney had spent over an hour in the bathtub which makes it impossible for Cissy to have spoken with her "20-25 minutes" before her death. Just sayin'.

I agree with JennyJJJ about Bobbi not seeing her mom in those conditions. Bobbi is the person who I feel sorry for the most. Whitney chose her path, but this poor, poor girl is going to pay for her parents' sins for the rest of her life. I hope she gets all the help she desperately needs.

    Too sad…

How could her mother have talked to her 25-30 minutes before she died when the reports are that she was in the bathroom for over an hour before one of her staff checked on her?

Probably used her cell phone. Pastor KMSettles
