Simon Cowell Confirms Whitney Houston Was Wanted As An X Factor Judge!!!
Oh no!! This is just so heartbreaking!!
Turns out Whitney Houston was in talks to become an X Factor judge!!
Show ringleader Simon Cowell explains:
The rumors that had got back to us and that's often what happens when people want to be on these shows, somebody tells someone to get the word out, it's normally a sign that they are interested.
We were ironically going to meet on Monday and of course, one of the names we were going to be talking about in that meeting as a possible mentor on the new series of X Factor was going to be Whitney Houston.
Given the choice, I would have liked to have taken her under my wing as well, because she would have been the ultimate, ultimate mentor to any contestant coming on the show.
I am absolutely devastated by this news. I am so sad for her. She was undoubtedly one of the greatest superstars of all time. One of the greatest voices in our time we're likely ever to hear.

Inside sources from the show even confirmed she had reached out to producers with her interest in the job.
We would have LOVED to see Whitney on that show!!! And U know how much we LOVE X Factor!!!
Sigh. Such a shame!!

I am finding this a bit hard to believe. As wonderful and talented as WHitney was, she was also a train wreck. I can't see Simon Cowell making such a risky move. Maybe as a one time guest, but I doubt she could have pulled off a whole season.
Of course he would confirm it now! I totally agree with rosebud99.. Simon is a business man and business men don't make these risks just for a good voice..
Actually not so strange… there is a last vid of whitney taken by Access Hollywood or something and whitney is at the rehearsal for pre-grammy party with Clive Davis, Monica, and Brandy. She can be seen talking to Clive and her saying something about a meeting and meeting Clive upstairs floor at the Beverly Hilton. Then Whitney mentions the word "xfactor" to Clive and then she leaves the shot. Hmmm, and Hollywood reporter also mentioned Whitney as offered one of the judge's chair. Plot thickens…
Well of course, and right before MJ overdosed, he was in talks with XFactor as well.
I know what you're thinking. Now you've got a better chance to be a judge with Whitney out of the way. Don't deny it. You're probably checking the obits and newswires right now to see if any other possible judges have passed away.
bullshit. she was a mess. NO WAY was anyone looking to recreate her career. People are only saying this shit cause she passed away.

I have been trying to piece this tragedy together and it might have some merit. She came into Hollywood early (many jet in and then return to various places touring/working). Last night Jane Valez-Mitchell showed a video clip where JVM asserted showed WH had fallen off the wagon so to speak- busting in on a Clive Davis-Brady(?) interview. She did appeared "pumped"- though the people being interviewed didn't seem to be that troubled about it.
Could she have been celebratory because maybe Clive Davis and Simon Cowell got together and got her a paying gig she was desperately needing? If such is the case I am sure it will come out perhaps…
