Good for her! Embrace the person you were born to be!

British-born Australian actress Magda Szubanski took a proud and inspiring stance on national television, standing up for legalizing gay marriage everyone and coming out as a proud gay woman herself!

In an emotional and inspiring interview, Magda shared with the world her feelings about being gay and find ways to have the community more accepted worldwide. She shared:

"I absolutely identify as gay … and it must be hard for people who don't experience it to know what the pressures of being gay are. When you are forced into this position you almost feel that you have to choose, you just want to give of yourself."

Beautifully said! We couldn't agree more!

Magda shared that she has already come out to her family and closest friends, so this moment of making her private life public is just for the good of the task at hand - making gay marriage legal. And what a wonderful way of showing her support!

Bravo to you, Miz Magda! All the love in the world to you and yours today!

"Australian Actress…" Did y'all forget we are in the US? We probably won't know here.

Exact idea behind Rosa Parks.. no one knew her. But look!

These kind of people are the ones that can slowly help the fight for equality. I appreciate it, Magda! :)

Matt Bomer came out too this week or last week. Didn't a bunch of actors and actors on Criminal Minds come out too? I know of at least three that are out but not publisizing it on the show. Love love love that show!!!

Sad that this is the only reason you notice people Mario, is because of their sexual orientation. Guess that says a lot about you.

  7. 7

NEWS FLASH: ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX have just announced that all charters, actors and reality stars will officially be GAY! EMBGLTB (Everybody Must Be Gay, Lesbian, Transgendered, Bi) announced that this was a monumental day in history. President Obama announced that this is part of the jobs creation program. It will put 50,000 screen writers to work, temporarily to write new gay story lines for all members of the screen actors guild who are working. As a side note, Bart Simpson and The Bachelor are said to be most unhappy about the new mandate.

Re: allyice – Do you have a problem with your mama, AL, cause she didn't know how to spell your name? Get that chip off of your shoulder. It's most unbecoming and makes you walk lopsided.

  14. 14

to echo others…. who? and who really gives a crap

Re: Brant – I'm glad you mentioned this, Brant, because I was beginning to say the same thing. She was wonderful in those movies– didn't she get an award nod for the first "Babe" movie?

  16. 16

she's like the Melissa McCarthy of australia, although she hasn't been in anything for a long time, but she's one of the most hilarious people, you should maybe youtube fast forward with her name

  17. 17

Dumb. You are your stupid posts about who comes out. Enough already. No one cares. In fact most of us don't even have a clue who she is.

Re: LovegoodRe: blondly7 – Many of you in the US know Magda without realising it.She was Mrs Hoggett in Babe, and also played Sharon in the original version of Kath and Kim.She also played Furlow in Farscape. She was the voice of Miss Viola in Happy Feet and played Mrs Lonsdale in The Golden Compass. She tends to play characters older than she is,and she's very good at accents. She is a VERY popular comedienne in Australia, having been in scores of long running sketch shows. She frequently tops QScore polls, which measure familarity and appeal of brands and public figures.Check out her sketch show work on Youtube, she's hilarious. She's generally regarded as much as a national treasure as Paul Hogan was, before he went Hollywood and sold out with a facelift and the younger wife. Not everything on this site has to be US-centric.If you don't know her work, you're missing out.

  19. 19

Are you sure it wasn't beastiality? For easter she is going to announce who the fuck she is and why we should care.

  20. 20

Perez, you should edit this entry to read 'Kath and Kim Star Magda Szubanski' or refer to her as 'Babe's Mrs Hoggett' since your US-centric readers seem incapable of remembering any actor who doesn't live in your fair country. And why should you guys care? Because bills are currently before the Australian parliament to change the law to allow gay marriage.Magda is very well loved here as a national treasure,so her opinion on this subject is BIG news here ATM.Pretty much NO ONE twigged that Magda was gay &,has had only love & support from the Australian public since coming out.Everyone from hardcore bogans(Australian chav/redneck types) to straight lace old grannies loves her. She's a great example that gays are ordinary people who just want to be happy. If anyone could help turn the tide and help usher in gay marriage it's her.And if it passes,Australia will be yet another 1st World nation making the US look antiquated & hung-up about sexuality.
