That was in the very beginning of her career. She has started at a very young age, so she took a break from the industry. She came back with that song and a little while after, people all over the world knew who Celine Dion was.

Perez, it was a very popular song in Quebec back in the 80s :) Celine has a lot of other really good french songs :) Way better than this one in fact :)

Millions of people knew it existed.

growing up in rural Quebec in the 80's I had NO idea that Celine would become the star that she is… I don't know how many bus rides into school I suffered through listening to this new 'local star' singing her songs in French over the crappy local radio station reception. *smirk* Back when she was 'Sa-lynn' and not 'Se-lean'

How sad is it that it's shocking to see a young pretty girl in a music video that is not wearing a thong and fishnets grinding up against various men. I suppose it was before Madonna's awesome whoreishness . . . er. . . influence.

I think this proves how superficial your knowledge of music is.
Celine Dion is, before everything, a true Quebecer artist. She was big in Canada and Europe before ever being even considered to be a star in the US.

This was back in the day when she was a French Separatist in Quebec (in other words hated English). However, she quickly changed her politics and embraced English to further her career. Now she denies that she was a Separatist. A Separatist wanted to separate Quebec from the rest of Canada. I only wish they did.

Wow, this is proof positive that with money anyone can become good looking!

Not as good as Mitsou. She rocked the Quebec 80s scene!

Funny how her career skyrocketed when she embraced English.

We in Quebec have known about this crappy video and song for a very longtime Perez… Th 80's were tough everywhere not just in the US! Plus, the lyrics are TERRIBLE.
