amanda knox book getting 4 million dollars

WOW.

To recap - Amanda Knox and her boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito served four years in an Italian prison after being sentenced for the murder of Amanda's roommate Meredith Kercher.

Back in December, an Italian appeals court made the disturbing announcement that Amanda and Raffaele's murder convictions had been overturned because there was never "any reliable evidence" to link the two to the murder.

Then yesterday, a spokeswoman for HarperCollins publishing house announced that Amanda had sold her memoir to them…and we were hearing that the book deal would likely be somewhere in the one-million-dollar-range.

Now, we've learned that Amanda's book has sold to HarperCollins for nearly $4 million!!!

Here's what HarperCollins' Jonathan Burnham had to say about it:

"It is a story that everyone else seems to have told except for the person at the center of it all."

"There has been plenty of rumor and conjecture about her personality, the role she played in events, and speculation about what happened. This book will tell the full story from her point of view for the very first time, and it will be told in her own words."

We still can't get over the fact that she's getting $4 mil for this! We understand the pain of four years in jail must be REALLY strong…but at least she's going to be able to live VERY well from here on out…

What do U think? Is Amanda's story worth $4 million???

Good for her. She deserves more for what she went through!

  2. 2

    For Sure!!

  3. 3

and she deserves every fucking cent!

  4. 4

Actually, the person at the center of it all was the victim, and we will never hear her story. I don't think anyone can expect the truth out of this girl. I will definitely not buy the book. It is blood money.

  5. 5

    She looks scary as hell.

  6. 6

4 million for killing her roommate guess she didn't do to bad. Sorry but she's guilty and got away with it!!!

  7. 7

    blood money

  8. 8

I guess crime does pay. just another o.j. scenario.

  9. 9

She's clearly guilty of something. When the police asked her why she didn't find all of the blood in the bathroom cause enough to get the police involved she just replied, "I thought it was menstrual blood." Riiiighht.

"an Italian appeals court made the disturbing announcement that Amanda and Raffaele's murder convictions had been overturned because there was never "any reliable evidence"

TELL ME PEEREX why would justice being served be disturbing to you?? So if you spent 4 years in prison for a crime YOU DID NOT COMMIT, you would not take all you can, while screaming discrimination and suing the pants off anyone you could. you are truly an evil man.

i think it is just wonderful all of you people who are not lawyers, have not seen ONE piece of real evidence, are all smarter than the judge.
I'm just fucking amazed that you with all these brains are wasting your time posting to this crap site when you should be paying attention to your multi million$ businesses, writing legal opinions, and sharing your great intellectual masterpieces with the other great brains of the world.

The italian police planted evidence to pin a murder on this girl, and she spent 4 years in jail. All to make a statement against America. In the USA, people are innocent until proven guilty. This whole thing was just a rude reminder of how amazing the American justice system is, and how much we take our freedoms for granted. She deserves this and more.

I can see some people haven't read up on the trial… the Italian police mishandled and planted evidence. There was a man involved, who was KNOWN for having smashed through windows to get at victims (the same way this particular victim's home was entered), who ADMITTED to having been in the house and all but admitted to killing her… his DNA was found, his fingerprints, his shoeprints. He got, what? A hugely reduced sentence… for apologizing to the family?

The police hired a whore — a legit whore, not an insult in this case — to lie and say she'd seen Amanda Knox to undermine her alibi of being at her boyfriend's house.

Knox hadn't a single motive for the murder. They grasped at straws and said "jealousy" — never mind that Knox was financially comfortable, as much or more so as the victim, was beautiful and loved and had no reason whatsoever to feel jealous.

You folks who think she's guilty are idiots. And frankly? Even if she was guilty? The Supreme Court would have let her go in America for the piss-poor job they did of handling the case, including compromising over 40 pieces of evidence.

It's absolutely worth it. Good for her. She deserves every penny. I'm really looking forward to her book.

There was a lot of circumstantial evidence that was largely ignored by the American press. Remember she started telling lies from the first minute when she was being interrogated.

  17. 17

Re: eticket – You mean the interrogation in which they hit her and refused her a lawyer? The 50 hour long interrogation happened without a lawyer throughout some of it — despite the fact that Italian law makes it clear that a lawyer is needed. No translator was provided initially either. And as for lying, how about the lies police told her that they had evidence against her (when there was none)? But of course nobody focuses on the police fuckups in America, especially when folks have the mentality of guilty until proven innocent…

  18. 18

I sincerely hope that she is completely innocent
because if she did have something to do with the murder of Meredith Kercher ..
( by the way…she has a name you know-she wasn't just the "victim" or "roommate"- rather disrespectful to her and her family to call her only that)
… then the Kircher's family's blood must be boiling at the thought of it all
we will probably never know the truth and it so tragic for Merediths' family that nobody will be held accountable for the death or their beautiful young daughter!

I waas living in Europe when this went down and there was a lot more reported than made the press here. Knox was not a student, she dropped out and hung in the coffee shops and brought men home. There were unsavory stories of her behavior especially after the murder. Turning cartwheels and doing yoga poses in the police station and then saying she was just nervous doesn't fly. The biggest thing that helped her was the hotshot PR firm her family hired before even getting a lawyer. She is just another money grubbing loser like Casey Anthony, making money on the death of another. And like Anthony she lied about someone else and sent him to jail instead of just ruing his reputation. I hope Meredith's family and the innocent guy she lied about keep tabs on this and sue her so that the money goes to the victims. She is liar and that conviction stood.
