J.K. Rowling Announces First Post-Potter Novel!

This. Is. AWESOME!

We are super excited to report that J.K. Rowling's new agency, The Blair Partnership, announced today that the author will be publishing her first book since completing the Harry Potter series - which will be intended for adults and published by Little, Brown in the United States!

According to the statement:

We are pleased to announce That our client, J.K. Rowling, will be releasing a new novel for adults. Further details will be announced later in the year. The Blair Partnership is a literary agency. We are in the business of taking care of authors, their talent, their careers and their success.

And Rowling explains:

“Although I’ve enjoyed writing it every bit as much, my next book will be very different to the Harry Potter series, which has been published so brilliantly by Bloomsbury and my other publishers around the world. The freedom to explore new territory is a gift that Harry’s success has brought me, and with that new territory it seemed a logical progression to have a new publisher. I am delighted to have a second publishing home in Little, Brown, and a publishing team that will be a great partner in this new phase of my writing life.”

Wow! As sad as we are to hear that she's living the wizarding world behind for now, we're so curious - AND EXCITED - to see where her career takes her…and what the new novel will be about!

What direction do U think J.K. Rowling is going to take?

This book will flop. Point blank, period. Plenty of adult writers 100x better than her. Like celebs, just cuz you were successful in one area doesnt mean you succeed in all areas. She doesnt have the adult backing outside of the Potter series.

Why do you ask if we agree and then turn off the comments you fucking homo retard.

Perez, we can't agree or disagree about Lohans hair, if you have the comments off. Why is she looking so pale? Drug withdrawal?

Re: deranged revolutionary – I agree. Her hair looks like polyester. Not good at all. As for JK Rowling, I am looking forward to seeing what she can do. Re: xcalibur – Too soon to say it will flop. It will probably do quit well just because of her name recognition.

Re: hoochpit – don't you dare say that. You are such a worthless commenter, and an idiot if you are going to talk like that.

Your comments are so not relating to this story.

I'm so excited, because I am curious. Maybe it won't be that great…maybe it will. Maybe she will create something else for all of us to fall in love with. YOU NEVER KNOW. Have some hope.

Re: xcalibur – are you serious? of course she's going to sell millions of copies. everyone who was a kid when harry potter came out is an adult now. almost the entire harry potter fandom is in their 20s now. and the last few books in the series weren't really kids books anyway.

i think you cant judge her before reading it first, atleast give the women a change! i still love harry potter and im a little disappointed that this isnt about hp, i would love a prequel! but i understand that she wants to write about new things, i wish her all the best in the world, she wrote my favorite books and i hope this will be a succes either, i will definitely read it!

Perez, perhaps you should hire people that have gotten an education and know things should be proofread and edited before publishing. I think "living", was meant to say "leaving" two totally different words, just saying. Loses credibility…

cant wait shes so talented. Hell harry potter was a harder read then most Adult books, so i'm very happy!!

Honestly, I would read this woman's grocery list for literary entertainment and still be happy.
I mean, Harry Potter has kind of become its own entity, but she's still a good writer. Just look at the progression with that series and you see her getting better and better. I know it might be a bit of a shock to read something non-Potter by her, but I'm willing to give it a try because I know it'll be quality.
And for whoever tried to label her as just a kids author, you need to consider the fact that the Potter generation has grown up, and the fact that many adult authors admire Rowling (like Stephen King).
