Hollywood and Highland Center doesn't really roll off the tongue, does it?
As previously reported, Kodak wants their name off the Kodak Theatre after they filed for bankruptcy.
CIM Group, the theatre's owners, didn't want this to happen before the Oscars but it looks like they, nor the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, can't do anything about it.
Tom Sherak, president of AMPAS, says the landlord wants them to say "live from the Hollywood and Highland Center in Hollywood, California," and they will do just that.
Sad. So much history has been made in the 11 years that Kodak has had naming rights.
This all but certifies the Oscars' move to the Nokia Theatre.
