ratings moving up

Did U watch the 84th Annual Academy Awards last night?

If so, you'd be one of many who tuned in to watch Hugo and The Artist slay all the competition by walking away with the most Oscar trophies.

The ratings are in and with the help of Billy Crystal, the show managed to increase it's viewership with a 25.5 Household rating/38 share, compared to last year's 24.5/37.

Every year the interest in the pinnacle award show seems to shift depending on all sorts of variables, but we think people tuned in because they were curious to see how good Billy's 9th stint as host would fare in comparison to James Franco and Anne Hathaway's disappointing performance.

If U helped give this year's show a booster over 2011's, let us know what made ya want to tune in below!

Too bad Hugo didn't slay in the theaters. Are you just going to post pictures from now on?

It was okay. Not enough genuine star power. And those who were there are the same cast of characters. The Oscars needs to invite and welcome some more of its old stars into the mix - in the audience or as presenters. Even at the parties its the trash Kardashians??? The telecasr had real problems with their own SOUND MIXING. You could barely hear Billy Crystal's lyrics as he sang the opening songs because the music/orchestra sound levels were drowning him out. The music overall was too loud for most of show and over various speakers. I thought that making fun of Angelina Jolie right in front of her was in the worst taste. Something some guys who spend tons of time locked in rooms with other guys will do. And while the set was great looking and well-done, the show didn't quite pay enough homage to that same era of cinema's past. Tom Cruise was a dud to end on. But as the show is beamed across the world, I suppose he's a much bigger star in Asia than most anyone else there.
