Mitt Romney Edges Out Rick Santorum In Michigan, Admits His Wealthy Image Hurts His Campaign

Mitt Romney Money View

Santorum was all over Romney, but Mitt still managed to win Michigan — and also won Arizona as well.

But, in an odd moment of clarity, Mitt even said that he thinks his wealthy image has hurt his campaign! Really!

The thing is… he got a little short with the interviewer who asked him point blank if his rich boy persona had hurt him.

Here's what Romney said:

“Yes, next question.”

Don't care to elaborate, Mitt??

Among other things, the interviewer was probably referring to Mitt saying that he supported NASCAR because some of his friends own teams, and that his wife drives a couple of Mercedes!

Seems to be off the cuff as if he was talking to his country club friends, but in front of the wrong audience — it totally sounds like bragging!

Do U think that stuff is hurting him??

Mitt is more handsome than Perez Hilton.

you really need to stop reporting on politics. Your completely lack of understanding of our political system is utterly astounding. You truly dont understand the issues other then pushing your gay agenda. Obama is a horrendous president. Worse then Bush even. Yet you and all the other blind liberals follow him deeper and deeper into the darkness…

  3. 3

Mitt, how dare you work hard for the money you have!! i would expect better from you, like collecting welfare and food stamps.

  4. 4

I see now how it works. We cannot be bigots when it pertains to race, religion or sexual orientation, (and that's how it should be), but if you're wealthy…..bring on the BIGOTS!!!!! I hope you realize how hypocritical you're being.

  5. 5

First, you should not be reporting on politics. Pick your genre. Second, it's not his wealth that hurts his campaign, it's his arrogance in talking about it. ARROGANCE.

Re: telredwen – While I'm not quite as down on Obama as you are, telredwen, I completely agree. Perez, in this post you didn't even get the type of car right. That's been everywhere- John Stewart made a bunch of jokes about it, so you didn't even have to read a serious news article. It's incredibly frustrating to have you diminish how important these issues really are by posting tiny, ignorant, poorly-researched posts. You're certainly entitled to your opinion, and to be a liberal. But please, you do have tremendous amount of influence with that blog. Make sure you use that wisely, and do your homework.

What is wrong in having with having a wealthy president
You know Mitt is not about to sell himself out for vacant lot in Chicago,
that a convicted felon drops in his lap
Mitt has had $$$$ all his life, it's no big deal,no one needed to pay his way through school, with a lot of strings attached

We voted for a moron with no experience and he has run up almost 2X the debt, started a war, increased number of people on welfare/food stamps by 27%, is crushing the drilling in this country, gas prices are double, everything is almost 2 X what it was when the clown got in. It is time for someone with experience to run the country. Mitt made the money himself. He DID NOT INHERIT IT! I want him in the white house. Not some ego maniac who just campaigns and vacations. PLEASE OPEN YOUR EYES THIS TIME! OUR COUNTRY DEPENDS ON IT!

Nothing wrong about being rich, but when Romney tries to come across as this person who knows what it's like to have money problems, like having no money and debt.
He constantly says in his speeches that "people are suffering"
Now I don't know what problems rich people have but i doubt he really knows our problems
He comes off very fake, constant flip flopper, he has a percent face for a corrupt politician
And with all that wealth he's buying the election

Its a sad day when one has to apologize for making money. Perez, don't you want to make money? Isn't that why all of us work, to try and get ahead? Thanks to Obama, the populus is now engaged in envy, entitlement and a disdain for those who work to get ahead. Sick way to be and not productive at all.

  12. 12

Re: HAWTSTUFF – Well, Obama spent almost one billion last campaign and this time he will spend one billion. Want to talk about buying an election? He is still paying off his favors for his bundlers except it is the American tax payers that are footing the bill for his payoffs.

Obama is from the land of the dirtiest politicians in the country. Did you forget that?

  13. 13

What the hell do you know about politics? Are even a Football game? LOLz Keep to what you do best all the celebrity gossip! But as long as Santurum is pushed out of the way I'm happy!

    Ron Paul for President!!!

The guy is such a dick: He said today the most important "thing" in his life is his wife. Wow, Ann, you're a good THING in his life. No one with any amount of intelligence or sensitivity speaks this way of people he or she loves and respects.

Re: RedBlueSnake – #1 Elephant Man is more handsome than Perez Hilton.

  17. 17

Wealthy is not a bad word. Wealthy is the result of brains and hard work! His money is the result of his own accomplishments. He inherited money from his father, but he donated it all to honor his father. What a real man!!! Let the libs cry in their sandbox about class warfare, but I'll take a wealthy man like Romney any day for president!

  18. 18

Re: Rossi – He is a good man that's loves his wife and family. He's not texting and tweeting his genitals like a lot of creeps out there, and he's not playing 'cigar' with interns either. Way to slam a man for honoring his wife!

    Re: telredwen

You are a dumb cun*t. Have a "cute" day. :)

    Re: noel_mar

Well said noel. I've been saying the same thing as you for so long. Pick your genre Perez! Your little inept posts about politics is embarrassing. Please just stick to what you know…celebrities.

  21. 21

Li'l Dixie Jenkins, Wow, What an intelligent rebuttal to my argument! *rolls eyes* Don't worry, I will have a "cute" day.

  22. 22

Li'l Dixie Jenkins, also if your "rebuttal" is against my "gay agenda" comment, I have no problem with gay marriage at all, but I was simply stating that it is the only issue PH cares about.

Re: mandylove – Yes, Ron would be great, but if he does not make it, I could get behind Mitt.

  24. 24

Re: mandylove – YES!!!Re: smithygirl – Being wealthy doesn't necessarily mean that the money is earned from hard work and intelligence, moron. Some people are born into wealth, FYI, as he certainly is. It's called "old money".

  25. 25

Nothing wrong with being rich but he the guy cannot connect with voters and tends to say stupid shit from time to time.

  26. 26

Re: Midnight Empress – You are certainly jealous of people with money! You want to punish them for being successful, what a loser mentality! There is nothing wrong with wealth, other than miserable haters like you that are too lazy to achieve it on your own! You are just a jealous wannabe, too pathetic to be successful!

  27. 27

Re: smithygirl – I am plenty successful myself! You're argument is greatly flawed. Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton are rich, but does that make them hard-working, honest individuals? NO! The greedy bastards at Wall Street are rich too, but they get their money from all of us taxpayers while the cost of living has risen for us! There's nothing for me to be jealous of, bitch. Anyone with a brain knows that wealth or lack thereof does not make a person good or bad.

  28. 28

Re: Midnight Empress – I am no fan of Hilton or Kardashian, but I certainly to not begrudge their success or wealth like you do. And I do not have a bigoted opinion of people that work on Wall Street like you do either. I don't put people down for where they work, or that they were successful and made money and built wealth as long as it was done legally. It is really none of our business what other people's wealth is, or if it is 'old' or 'new' money. Your name calling, does show your lack of maturity and possibly a lack of education too. Your posts are hostile towards wealth, re-read them please, you sound so angry trying to express yourself! Maybe you just need to get your nose out of everyones wallet and just be happy with yourself.

  29. 29

Re: smithygirl – Lol name calling??? You called me jealous, pathetic, a loser, and uneducated. That makes you just as "immature" as I am. I'm working on a bachelor's degree myself, and NOT ONCE did I say all wealthy people are evil, just some. Read through your comments again, since you made the assumption that I hate all rich people, which I don't.

Re: smithygirl – 'Legally.' There's the rub, and it's being uncovered. Whether it's all actually prosecuted is a whole other thing.
