This is just so incredibly sad.

While many were shocked and devastated to discover today that Davy Jones had passed away after suffering a heart attack at the age of 66, his former Monkees bandmate Micky Dolenz has spoken out about the tragic passing, and revealed that he had a feeling something was wrong after suffering from bad dreams the night before!

He says in a statement:

"Can't believe it…Still in shock…had bad dreams all night long. My love and prayers go out to Davy's girls and family right now."

And meanwhile, bassist Peter Tork also says:

"It is with great sadness that I reflect on the sudden passing of my long-time friend and fellow-adventurer, David Jones. His talent will be much missed; his gifts will be with us always. My deepest sympathy to Jessica and the rest of his family. Adios, to the Manchester Cowboy."

He really has left us too soon.

R.I.P. Davy. You will be greatly missed.

Wow I feel sad. I feel like my first love just died. The Beatles and The Monkees were my first introductions to the wonderful world of boys.

I have had premonitions before, and they are quite scary. Especially when they come true.

Wow…we had one TV., I could only watch the Monkees every other week as my brothers would get to watch the show Combat. How I would daydream about the Monkees in between. Good Times back then!! RIP Davy.

I remember loving the Monkees when I was 11..back in 1996~now being 27…its so sad to hear Davy is REALLY gone! :-( I enjoyed his music and accent very much. He was a talented man, had great love for music/fans, and had kick butt dancing moves! Such a sad day! My heart goes out to his wife, his children, grandchildren, family and friends.
Rest in Peace Davy…."This just doesn't seem to be my day"-Monkees song.

    Here we come
    Walking down the street
We get the funniest looks from
    Everyone we meet.

    Hey, hey we're the Monkees,
and people say we monkey around.
    But we're too busy singing,
    to put anybody down.

We go wherever we want to,
Do what we like to do.
We don't have time to get restless,
    There's always something new.

    Hey, hey we're the Monkees,
and people say we monkey around.
    But we're too busy singing,
    to put anybody down.

We're just trying to be friendly,
Come watch us sing and play.
    We're the young generation,
And we got something to say.

    Hey, hey we're the Monkees,
You never know where we'll be found.
    So you'd better get ready,
We may be comin to your town.

    Hey, hey we're the Monkees,
and people say we monkey around.
    But we're too busy singing,
    to put anybody down.
