brad pitt joins 8

A few weeks ago, we mentioned that we couldn't be prouder of the Hollywood community for supporting the L.A. reading of Dustin Lance Black's VERY important Proposition 8 play entitled 8.

As a reminder, the play explores the case filed by the American Foundation for Equal Rights (AFER) to overturn Proposition 8.

Now, we're THRILLED to announce that Brad Pitt has joined the already star-studded cast for 8, which features the following talented actors:

Chris Colfer, Kevin Bacon, John C. Reilly, George Clooney, Jane Lynch, Matthew Morrison and Martin Sheen.

The one-night performance takes place on March 3rd at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre in L.A., and it will ALSO be live-streamed on YouTube!

We will definitely be watching this. Thanks for getting involved, Brad!

good for pitt. i think he will be reading the part of Judge Vaughn R. Walker. it will be great for people to finally see what the cowards who fought for prop. 8 in court tried to hide from the public. everyone needs to see how the courts rejected discrimination and inequality and chose truth and facts.

Imagine a state where gay marriage had been voted on twice and passed twice. Both times, homosexuals were able to get married in this state. Then, two random judges from the state overruled it, twice, calling it "unconstitutional". Imagine the outrage of the homosexual community if the bill had passed by the majority of the vote twice, only to be revoked by 2 judges. Two judges think they know better than millions and millions of people who exercised their right to vote. It's ABSURD to me that people cannot see the injustice of overturning a majority-rule vote, regardless of the issue at hand. I'm not saying I'm pro or anti gay marriage, it's just evident that lady justice does not have her scales aligned properly.

Re: sallymander – what is ABSURD is allowing a majority to vote on the rights of a minority.

Re: AttFinch – Do you know what democracy is? I'm just saying, if the decision was the other way around, it would be public outrage. But since it benefits this group, it's considered justice.
