Yay!!! The movie market is flooded with a lot of 2 fast, 2 furious, and 2 many sequels these days, but this is one that is well deserved!
Paramount has announced that they will release another SpongeBob Squarepants movie in 2014! Philippe Dauman, the president and CEO of the studio's parent company Viacom, told sources:
"We will be releasing a SpongeBob movie at the end of 2014, which will serve to start off or be one of our films that starts off our new animation effort."
Since their contract with DreamWorks Animation runs out at the end of this year, the company is considering whether to renew or take animation into their own hands.
They already started with Rango, which not only got great reviews, but it won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature this year!
Not a bad start and we're sure another SpongeBob movie would only help their cause since it's an established brand.
The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie raked in over $85 million domestically and nearly $55 million in 2004, but Dauman maintains the brand did not have as much of a global presence as it does now.
Hey, we'll watch it! SpongeBob is HIGHlarious! Are U excited for another big screen adventure in Bikini Bottom?
