The Hunger Games Could Make $100 Million In Its Opening Weekend!

hunger games could make 100 million dollars on opening weekend

Given this movie's INSANE advance ticket sales, we had a feeling it would have a record-breaking opening weekend!

Based on initial tracking, both box-office observers AND exhibitors are saying that The Hunger Games could make close to $100 million during its opening weekend in the U.S.!

HG is tracking well with both men and women, although it's tracking BEST with females under 25 years old.

The first Twilight movie opened to nearly $70 million. Should be interesting to see if Hunger Games surpasses it!

What do U think? Will HG make $100 million in its opening weekend???

Is the book good? I have heard a lot about this but am just no interested. Has anyone read the book? Is it better than Twilight (if you've read it). I really liked Twilight the book, but I just don't see the appeal of this movie and books. Should I give it a shot?

the only reason this will make great money is because they are putting the new twilight bd pt 2 trailer in the previews. ive read the books and you just know whats going to happen they suck. obviously she is the one that wins in book one and two because well um hello there are 3 books!!!

Re: Mimi the Magnificent – the books are great!! the comment below said they weren't good… really surprising because everyone i know whos read them LOVES them! I personally love the books because the series has a really original and interesting concept and it follows through for all three books, it doesn't get boring or stupid which happens in a lot of other books that sound interesting.

Some of the best books I have ever read in my life. Seeing this movie will be my after exam treat :)
@Mimi, you should definitely give these books a chance.
These books cover real issues such as government power and survival, which is significantly more important than how important it is to have a boyfriend, like Twilight. Also, Suzanne Collins portrayed an incredible amount of character development and emotion into 3 short novels, which Stephenie Meyer couldn't even come close to in her 4 massive books.

its a great story of what happens when government takes too much control of our lives.

Re: Mimi the Magnificent – The first book is good. I feel the other two are just okay. I have a feeling the movies won't be good. For starters it is made to appeal to Twilight fans and second the story has some R-rated content in terms of violence but has to be PG-13. The other thing is that some emotion has to be involved in order for it not to look like an ripe off of other movies like it. I do think Jennifer Lawerance can act. That is the upside.

they last two books are weak!! and i heard they are keeping it PG13… kinda annoying because the last two books are very violent, but they rather keep the little teen fans. I hope the reviews are actually good.

Re: missipreece – lol, you sound like an angry twilight fan. twilight is dead, the people going to see the movie are going to see The hunger games, not stupid breaking dawn trailer. The Hunger Games series have an important message. what is the important message in the twilight series?

What is the deal with this book! I just don't get it, of course I havn't read the books. I'm a junior in college so reading a book thats not a text book I start to feel kind of guilty lol. Anyways, the previews make this movie look like its some sort of concentration camp where people have to fight eachother for food!

is this gonna be another Twilight? I haven't read those either lol.

Re: obbie doobie! – pretty much the plot right there lol, but a little more complex

Re: obbie doobie! – i'm a junior in college too and i thought the first book was really good (haven't read the others yet). the writing is young-adult but the story is good and exciting.
much better than twilight. the main character actually has a lot of…. character.
