GLAAD Slams Kirk Cameron Over Homophobic Comments

| Filed under: Icky Icky PooGay Gay GayPiers Morgan

After Growing Pains star Kirk Cameron made homophobic remarks during his interview with Piers Morgan, calling homosexuality "unnatural," GLAAD has fired back at the actor/Born Again Christian, calling his views outdated.

Senior Director Herndon Graddick says:

"In this interview, Kirk Cameron sounds even more dated than his 1980s TV character.

Cameron is out of step with a growing majority of Americans, particularly people of faith who believe that their gay and lesbian brothers and sisters should be loved and accepted based on their character and not condemned because of their sexual orientation."

If you missed Kirk's interview, check it out above. Way to go, Piers AND GLAAD, for putting him in his place.

he's entitled to his opinion; no reason to abuse him.

  2. 2

Why do all the religious nuts in the US, the Christian Taliban want to force others to believe what they do? If he doesn't like homosexuality, don't be gay. If he doesn't like gay marriage, don't have one.

  3. 3

You've already posted the original video of Kirk on Piers Morgan's show, had almost 200 comments on it and have expressed your own views on his opinion. Now you have to post the obvious & predictable response from GLAAD? Honestly, let it go and move on to the next story.

I think he is entitled to his opinion. I am all for gay marriage. But some people arent. Its okay to have an opinion, and we shoulding slam those who dont agree with us. This isnt some uneducated red neck spreading hate. This is someone who just disagrees with gay marriage, and thats just as okay as those who are in favor of it.

The comment about his views being as outdated as his shows actually puts a bad taste in my mouth and made GLAAD look bad in my mind.

Equality for all does not mean that everyone has to agree.

  7. 7

    I am pro-gay!

and it IS AUNNATURAL. let's call it what it is. If it were natural, people woulodn't be fighting for their rights for gay equality. Use common sense people. besides, why the fuck are you asking a devout christian what he thinks about gays? I mean, are you serious? why not go ask michelle duggar what she thinks of gays. Come on!! Just because you don't believe in it doesn't make you a hater, or homophobe, and especially not a bigot, which i think is truly harsh and abusive! the gay community is really beginning to act like the PETA group. Pick on people who fight you, who opress you, not against good christians like KC.

I am not a religious person btyw. I just call it like I see it. Leave Cameron alone and pick on the real bullies. Shame on you Pier Morgan, shame!!!

  8. 8

I'll never understand how "Christians" have to troll back into the Old Testament to find one or two lines to justify their hate for gays. Funny how Jesus CHRIST, where the word "Christian" comes from, never said a word about them. You'd think that in his 33 years on Earth, if it was THAT important an issue, he'd have brought it up at least once. Instead, Christ said, "He that be without sin, cast the first stone." Lots of so-called-Christians don't listen to THAT part of the Bible.

Actually, even though I disagree with Kirk's opinion, his is the most well articulated anti-gay comments that I've heard. Like I said above, the man isnt spreading hate. He was asked about his opionon, and it is clear that he was trying to be sensitive and not unnecessarily critical.

Perez, its hypocritical of you to highlight Kirk Cameron because he dosnt not support gay marriage. You are condemning him for having a different opinion than you. How are you any better?

  10. 10

Let's be honest. Just as we all have gay family & friends, we all have family & friends that feel like Kirk Cameron does. I think it's fine if "Aunt Martha" doesn't believe it's right, but loves her gay niece or nephew just the same.
If you don't believe the way I do, (or vice-versa) but we still love each other at the end of the day, isn't that really what matters?
Do you think every single person agreed that women deserved to vote when the 19th Amendment passed? What about segregation? The point is, people will always have differing opinions, & when they do, they shouldn't be chastised for it.

Re: pollopicu – Blacks (as well as other minorities) were fighting for their rights too but by your logic, I guess being black is unnatural too right?

  12. 12

At no point was this man out of line in expressing his point of view. He did not over react, remained educated and was 100% honest. Would you prefer a liar as a social figure? Or someone who remain true to themselves expressing a viewpoint that many citizens empathize.

  13. 13

Everyone who attacks Kirk for his beliefs of gay marriage is judging his lifestyle as a Christian. If you support gay marriage and oppose people who want to change the way the gay community thinks why on earth would you attack Christians in the exact same way you dont want to be treated??! Peirs is basically condemning Kurt because of his belief in God and God's laws according to the bible. This is something the Christians have grown up with and have set in their foundation as believers. We can't change what the bible says, and REAL christians dont HATE anyone. we just dont agree with the idea of gay marriage. i have plenty of gay friends it doesnt mean i dont love them, i just dont agree with their lifestyle.

  14. 14

Oh no, the gays have their panties in a knot again, someone alert the media.

  15. 15

I'm gay and he's entitled to his opinion as am I. My opinion is that he is wrong.

  16. 16

GLAAD has become the gay-nazis. Remember when people were allowed to have their own opinions? Remember when we had freedom of speech? If GLAAD and the gay activists get their way, people will be punished for having "unacceptable" thoughts or ideas.

  17. 17

My God says Kirk's God is a fake God.

  18. 18

Once again, way to speak the Truth Kirk! As far as Piers Morgan and glaad putting him in his "place" Well both Piers and glaad allready have their own special place reserved for them! Time not only will tell, but will prove that Kirk was right all along.

  19. 19

It was NOT homophobic! He has his opinion, just cause it doesn't match your lifestyle does not make it homophobic! I don't believe in religion, but that doesn't make me anti-religion.

  20. 20

He is polite and well spoken. He has a right to his opinion. But in order for his opinion to have any credence he can't simply make sweeping statements without any back up. For example, can he explain how gay marriage will destruct the foundations of civilization, or how it is detrimental? How about some historical examples of societies destroyed by homosexuality? Or how does he explain homosexuality being unnatural when it is found throughout all societies, in all ages, as well as in the animal kingdom? Yes, he has an opinion, but in giving that opinion he is also fear mongering and promoting discrimination.

  21. 21

Wow, I can't believe how Piers was slamming him so hard when Kirk said absolutely nothing that was disrespectful. Seemed very judgemental just because Kirk has his own belief and opinion… not cool Piers

  22. 22

The Bible says, "judge not, lest ye be judged".

Shouldn't Christians love all of God's childrens?

  23. 23

What he is say is not homophobic at all. He is saying the act of homosexuality unnatural, which it is to a point, nothing beneficial really comes from a same sex marriage other than the intimate and sexual afflictions between the two people. Jesus Christ never specifically said anything about homosexuality because it wasn't an important issue to him probably. But the word of god is the bible, it's states that homosexuality is a sin you can repent from, but ultimately homosexuals against god will not inherite the kingdom of god. The real reason Christians are so against the "equality" of marriage is because allowing your country to openly sin without the act and knowledge of repentance is a sin every Christian holds to. Nobody really cares what people do in their personal lives, we just don't want another Sodem and Gomorrah.

  24. 24

    Re: rosebud99

    Excellent post, rosebud99.

  25. 25

Re: rosebud99 – Sodem and gomorrah are two societies that were wiped from the earth because of homosexuality as well as other cities during the biblical times.

  26. 26

Re: honeylove021 – The bible was written by men, not a deity. And in the 500 years after it was written, it was translated multiple times, rewritten, certain gospels were left out because they were contradictory, and others were changed to be more cohesive. It is a historical document that displays the social standards of the times in which it was written. How people interpret the bible now is up to the individual, but before people start quoting the bible, they should really do some serious research into the history of the bible so they are aware of how it came to be in its present form.

  27. 27

Re: rosebud99 – he's not required to be an historian, a theologian, a politician or a spokesperson representing all of Christianity. He's simply a private individual who was asked a question and he gave his opinion. If I was asked if I support polygamy, I would say "no"; but I can't go into socio-economic and historical detail as to why I feel that way. I can give a few brief, sweeping statements to explain my feeling but that's it. That's all he did too. Whether or not we like what others have to say, they have the right to say it, and he did so as a private citizen, in as gracious a way as he could. If we don't like what he says, we don't have to listen.

  28. 28

I am a billion percent for gay marriage, but people can have their own opinion. There is nothing wrong with what he said. It is his opinion and he has the right to that. Because it disagrees with YOUR VIEWS MARIO, he is just full of hate. Incorrect. Because people like a certain food and I DON'T don't mean I'm filled with HATE. Get over yourself Mario.

  29. 29

Kirk also never said he wouldn't love kids if they were gay, My cousin and my best friend from childhood are gay, they have known since we were little and have been together since they were sixteen. Its the longest relationship I have ever witness, so I know same sex is real and pure just as any other relationship. But we are also believers in god and know what he expects from us. I love how GLAAD thinks faith/religion is some outdated trend, that we should just throw out in the garbage because it's not what in anymore. Just as people have the right to marry and stand up for that right, we have the right too.

  30. 30

Re: rosebud99 – I am aware that it was written by disciples, and has been translated very which way. But it also one of the few hundred books that has sustained it's presence since then. But it doesn't matter. We interpret the bible to our own conscience, and seeing nothing that can dispute the bible as false, we have every right to produce it as evidence to our faith.

  31. Eizza says – reply to this

    31

    Re: rosebud99

See, then the conversation boils down to whether being gay is right or wrong. That is not the point of the issue with Kirk. The issue is that those with a differing opinion are labled as hate mongers, and that is absolutely just as wrong as hating people for being gay.

  32. 32

Calling homosexuality "unnatural" shows a great ignorance and lack of education. Homosexuality occurs in nature ALL THE TIME, including in over 100 species of animals like dolphins. Going to a building every Sunday in a car and believing in religion is "unnatural." No one is born THAT way.

  33. 33

Re: honeylove021 – If you go back to Jewish text, the sins of Sodom and Gomorrah were mainly worship of false idols, meanness, and poor hospitality. It is through multiple translations of the old testament that the emphasis was placed on homosexuality. Archeologically, there is very little evidence at all of where these towns were, or what happened in them.

  34. 34

Re: JasonDiggy – Exactly isn't America supposed to be a nation where we can think our own thoughts and believe what we want to believe? He is a Christian, newsflash Homosexuality is an abomination in The Bible. However I wanna see what GLAAD is going to do about this with their gestapo like tactics..

  35. 35

Re: JasonDiggy – Who said they HATE gays? where did cameron say he HATED gays, asshole? where?

  36. 36

He was asked his opinion, and he answered. He's free to express his beliefs. Equality for all means being able to freely express your opinion, as long as it doesn't harm anyone. Piers Morgan asked the question knowing full well what the answer was going to be.

  37. ABF says – reply to this

    37

Personally I do not care about his opinion. It is just sad that people who claim to profess love think this way.

  38. 38

Re: Seto – Omg how can you compare them, you ignorant ass? We're talking about the correlation between religion and marriage. What happen to the blacks is something on a totally different sphere. Wow, I guess that's what a person looks like when they're grasping for straws…not pretty.

  39. 39

Re: JasonDiggy – we're talking about Unnatural in SOCIETY, not in the ocean or wild. pick up a fucking book before you open your mouth.

  40. 40

Re: rosebud99 – like you said before it comes down what you believe and how interpret it. Im not Jewish, so I feel the text doesn't really apply. I know it's there but like every other text on the subject, its a translation, no more truth or false then the others. The question is can legalization of homosexuality be detrimental? On the federal plane not really because the sense of equality is achieved, but what about morally? Where do most Americans get their sense of morality from? Originally , it would been the church. Going by what he church states, yes it's detrimental from that point. That's all kirk is trying to state.

  41. 41

I agree with the others. He is allowed to believe what he believes. Good for him for knowing what he believes. We are all for freedom unless it conflicts with out opinions. Some like being gay - therr choice. Others believe that anal sex between men is odd - that's their choice.

    44

It drives me crazy that when someone doesn't agree with homosexuality or gay marriages, that they have to be labeled as homophobic or said to hate gays. I don't agree with it, but I have friends and family that are gay, and I love them dearly. As Christians we are called to love our neighbors….every neighbor. That doesn't mean you have to agree with everything about that person, but you still love them. Kirk Cameron being attacked just because he gave his opinion is truly wrong. And for people to attack Christians as being outdated and behind the times baffles me. Just because something is becoming more socially acceptable you want people to change their religious beliefs about it??!! I would have to question someone's faithfulness in general if they were so quick to jump on that bandwagon.

  45. 45

Re: honeylove021 – Sodom and Gomorrah WAS NOT destroyed simply because gay people were there the Bible clearly states:

Now this was the sin of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy. They were haughty and did detestable things before me. Therefore I did away with them as you have seen. (Ezekiel 16:49-50)

Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed because of sin, not one specific sin but sin period.
As a matter of fact Sodom and Gomorrah sounds a lot like modern day America.

  46. 46

Re: ABF – "Badself" said "Others believe that anal sex between men is odd - that's their choice." Actually that IS a choice. Having sex or not is a choice. (unless it's forced…)
He didn't say homosexuality, heterosexuality, bisexuality, etc…I think you are confusing what was said.

  47. 47

Re: Meggie246524 – I agree with your principles on free speech, but there seems to be a double standard here. When someone makes a comment about nazis or a racist comment, they are chastised for their hurtful attitudes, but when Kirk Cameron promotes discrimination against gays, it is ok because it is his religion, and he said it politely. I am not suggesting he be censored, merely held accountable for his statements. The good part is that it promotes discussion. And with discussion comes awareness.

  48. 48

And don’t forget Sodom and Gomorrah and their neighboring towns, which were filled with immorality and every kind of sexual perversion. Those cities were destroyed by fire and serve as a warning of the eternal fire of God’s judgment. (Jude 1:7 NLT)

If your going to state from the bible make sure you state everything.

Don’t you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don’t fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality, (1 Corinthians 6:9 NLT)

God does not hold homosexuality below any other sexual sin.

  49. Seto says – reply to this

    49

Re: honeylove021 – If you are using the bible as any indication or resemblance of a fact you are delusional. The "destruction" of Sodom and Gomorrah is a representation of a story written by some opium-snorting fool. Even if the city was destroyed, your so-called God didn't destroy it since quite frankly he doesn't exist. There is fact then there is opinion, the bible is opinion. The STORIES that occupy the bible are just that and cannot be proven. So to say that Sodom and Gomorrah is a place that was destroyed by homosexuality really is baseless and you clearly should get a better example…

Re: pollopicu – Um I'm going by your logic, hun. Read what you have posted again. Maybe I got lost in translation due to your poor grammar and bad pronunciation.

"and it IS AUNNATURAL. let's call it what it is. If it were natural, people woulodn't be fighting for their rights for gay equality." - Really? And there you thought I would delineate that you meant a "correlation between religion and marriage."

    Fascinating….

  51. 51

    Re: rosebud99 – I see your point.

  52. 52

Re: honeylove021 – Why are Christians so quick to pull out Bible quotes about gay people when there are plenty of other things in the Bible that are said to be wrong yet modern day Christians seem to skip right over those. If someone claims to be Christian and they claim to follow the Bible then they should follow all its rules, don't pick and choose what to follow that makes them look like a hypocrites for example instead of just focusing on what the Bible says about homosexuality what about when the Bible says:

-The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, IMPURITY and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; HATRED, discord, JEALOUSY, FITS OF RAGE, SELFISH AMBITION, dissensions, factions and ENVY, DRUNKENNESS, ORGIES, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. (NIV, Galatians 5:19-21)

-But all in the seas or in the rivers that do not have fins and scales, all that move in the water or any living thing which is in the water, they are an abomination to you." (Leviticus 11:10)
[That’s funny I’ve never seen a group of Christians protesting their local sea food restaurants, isn’t eating shellfish and shrimps an abomination just like being gay according to the Bible?]

-For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day must be put to death.
    Exodus 31:15

  53. 53

    Also

-He that curseth his father, or his mother, shall surely be put to death." — Ex.21:17

-Cor. 14:34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.”
    - [I guess all the female preachers conveniently skipped over this.]

-But if this charge is true (that she wasn't a virgin on her wedding night), and evidence of the girls virginity is not found, they shall bring the girl to the entrance of her fathers house and there her townsman shall stone her to death, because she committed a crime against Israel by her unchasteness in her father's house. Thus shall you purge the evil from your midst. (Deuteronomy 22:20-21 NAB)

  54. 54

Re: Seto – I don't need to set a better example to someone who already closed their mind. All that matters is that believe it to be true, because it has real people who exsisted (Jesus being one of them), in real places that be pointed out on a map, within a time line that can be proven as much as it has today. What you don't seem to understand is that it's not about presenting the bible as fact or opionion, but what the bible means to certain people and the way we interpret into our lives. The fact we can't publicly state, when asked our opionion, what we feel about things is wrong.

  55. 55

    also

-He that curseth his father, or his mother, shall surely be put to death." — Ex.21:17

Re: the1 u luv 2 h8! – Ah yes how wonderful you come at me, with various versus you pick out without knowing the chapter it is from, who wrote it, when it was written, the purpose it was written for, and how it is meant to be interpreted today. The bible is not to taken word for word, word by word. Duh. It is the story of Christianity, how it came to be, how life was before, how life is expected to be in the future, and certain rules to follow, to better your life in the next realm.

Had actually listen to a person a faith rather than a person of an religious institution , there is a difference, you would know a Christian is no better a regular person. We all sin, and we sometimes can't help sin. We obviously. Can't follow every word of the bible becaus that would mean understand everything that bible states and why. I can assure not even the greatest pastors know everything about the bible and follow it truthfully.

  57. 57

To everything the bible states is ulitmately impossible but it does mean we find it useless. I know personally for I see as how-to book, a way to follow my life and bring purpose to it. Certain versus stand out and mean more than others because they are relatable, make sense and can be done in truth.

    Do not kill
    Do not steal
    Love your neighbor as yourself.

Some would say that hypocritical, but are we really? And the rest of the world is completely unbiased?

  58. 58

Re: honeylove021 – EXACTLY MY POINT! If you yourself admit that "We all sin, and we sometimes can't help sin. We obviously. Can't follow every word of the bible" - Then how dare some Christians judge and condemn some people based on what the Bible says and not condemn others who also do things that the Bible clearly states is WRONG? That’s nothing but hypocritical. Who's to decide what we should and shouldn't follow in the Bible? If you claim to be Christian how can you follow some parts of the Bible while ignoring others? And if the Bible isn’t suppose to “taken word for word, word by word.” – as you claim then how come people take it word for word, word by word to judge others?

Why is is that every interviewer always brings up the gay or abortion scriptures whenever there is a a person from the Christian community on their show? From Oprah asking Pastor Osteen to now this. The bible has a wealth of other topics that can be discussed and asked about. What can become a great opportunity to lead people to Christ is often marred by controversy when these people are questioned about these particular topics. Why not ask them about the basic message of Christ and what he stood for? Why do they never ask their guests about Jesus? Why not ask them about how they came to be a believer in the first place and why they choose to follow Christ? As a Christian, I am so fed up with my beliefs being challenged and coming under fire just because people choose to harp on the most contoversial scriptures written in the bible just to get a reaction and to boost their ratings. There is so much more to my religion than a Kirk Cameron sound bite about homosexuality on a talk show!

I, however, am being labelled as closed minded by you because I do not believe in miracles, a virgin who had "sex" with a holy ghost and the like. Me simply not believing in fairy tales does not make me closed-minded, it makes me logical and I daresay, sane. You can believe whatever you want. I, on the other hand, believe only in things that can be proven

  63. 63

Re: the1 u luv 2 h8! – I explained everything I need to say. I would tell you though there are people who use christianity as a way to express their hatred. Whether gays, blacks, interracial marriage. But not all christianns are the same, also you do unknowingly judge one Christian by comparing them to another.,.

  64. 64

Re: Seto – I feel sad for you. If you don't even believe in the miracle of life, you really dont have any other purpose then just to breathe, die and then rot. As for these fairy tales, you do know Jesus Christ is an actually proven person? At least as proven as julius ceasor, homer, and those old guys in he past.

  65. 65

Kind of a double standard, no? Everyone has an opinion. He was on a TALK show. So what that he doesn't believe in gay rights??? That is HIS opinion plain and simple. This does not make him a bad person; it just means that he has a strong religious conviction that believes it is wrong. Are gay people going to stop being gay or have committed relationships bc some don't like it?? Prolly not. Live your life to the fullest and move on.

Re: honeylove021 – Unfortunately, we know very little about what JC was actually like. We know a lot about Caesar, not about JC. What we do know about him comes largely from unconfirmed sources, and sources who did not actually know him. A lot of info about JC was in the gospels that were left out of the bible because they did not mesh with the message early church leaders were trying to sell. Some accounts see JC as a militant Jew rebelling against Roman occupation. It certainly fits the historical background, but not the popular version of him. Bottom line is that we will never know what he was really like.

  67. 67

First of all, saying that "GLAAD Slams Kirk Cameron" is hyperbole. Second, I don't see any point to firing back at people like Kirk Cameron. People with those particular feelings toward gay people are not going to change their minds because GLAAD lashed out at them. Finally, why bring any more attention to this guy? Even among practicing Christians, Kirk Cameron isn't *that* popular. As far as I'm concerned, the segment of his interview in question was just a little blip on the radar of social consciousness. No, Kirk Cameron isn't exactly a progressively-thinking person. So what? I think GLAAD should just ignore people like him. Progress isn't going to halt on his behalf.

What you fail to see is that true Christians don't care if they insult you, GLADD, the homosexual community or the entire world. A true Christian's only care is that they live their life by God's will and doing anything other than what He asks of us, via the Bible, is an insult to Him. I really don't care how many others I insult…my only concern is living a life not insulting to God.

Re: honeylove021 – Feel for me whatever you wish. Just because I don't believe in the "miracle of life" doesn't mean I serve no purpose than those you have pointed out — (since when is birth miraculous?). Also, this presumption that Jesus existed equates to him being a superior being who can perform miracles and pop out of a virgin's twat???

  71. 71

We might not agree with how someone thinks, we can only hope they can learn to love those who are different. God made us all and like Lady Gaga says we were born this way the faster people realize this the better we all will be.

  72. 72

[Re: rosebud99 – The first part of what you said is very true. You should look into this book called the case for Christ by lee strobel. It answered alot of questions for me.

  73. 73

    Closet case. Like many homophobes.

  74. 74

I am ok with gay marriages because I feel that all people should have their rights protected. However, when I see a really hot gay actor I wwish they would play straight because I would rather see them kiss girls-more relatable.

  75. 75

spreading hatred makes him a bad person saying hes loving but selecting thousands of individuals to pour his hatred onto is not loving god made the babies be born and AND THE BABIES ARE GAY born gay die gay live their lives gay god made this occur so it is natural. this guy is sick and needs to be sent to jail for hate crimes

Kirk said it's 'unnatural' as many of you have. Let's look at the five descriptive definitions of the word, 'unnatural' (adjective)
    1. contrary to the laws or course of nature.
(It would seem to be contrary to a gay man's nature to lie with a woman.)
    2. at variance with the character or nature of a person, animal, or plant.
(Gays feel at variance with character or their nature to bond opposite sex)
    3. at variance with what is normal or to be expected: the unnatural atmosphere of the place.
(If a person is gay, what is normal or to be expected for them?)
    4. lacking human qualities or sympathies; monstrous; inhuman: an obsessive and unnatural hatred.
(Since when could gays be described as anything under number 4?)
    5. not genuine or spontaneous; artificial or contrived: a stiff, unnatural manner.
(Gays aren't genuine??? Spontaneous? I doubt they'd wish to be said to be artificial, contrived…)
I think rather than branding by saying that homosexuals are 'unnatural', he might have been better off saying that homosexuality is unnatural for him.

  77. 77

I'm gay, and he can say what he wants. He's Christian so what type of answer do you expect? and being gay may be unnatural to a heterosexual person, but since i was always gay it's 100% natural. The Old testament, was for building population, and thats why it was a sin. Our world is now at 8billion……jesus died for all sins, and he said "whoever believes in him shal not perish but have ever lasting life" he said "whoever."

  78. 78

Kirk would be a strung-out Santa Monica Blvd. Street Hustler infected with Hep C, Hep B, HIV, and that untreatable gonorrhea from sucking-off Jewish Hollywood Movie/TV Execs during their lunch breaks if he did not work the juvie casting couch to get on his TV Show.

  79. 79

All these Gay activists just need to go about their day and quit trying to force feed us their beliefs. They just make themselves look stupid and make more problems for the rest of us. If their gay so be it don't tell me what's right and wrong in the end it's GOD'S decision who goes to heaven and who doesn't.

  80. 80

Remember kids, this is the land of the free and we have the second amendment right to free speech. ONLY if your opinion matches theres.

  81. 81

i am so sick of people not being able to have their own oppinion!!!!!! he is a Christian!!! it is against his religion..everyone has a right to their own opinion!!!!

  82. 82

"Way to go, Piers AND GLAAD, for putting him in his place." ? Perez you are such an ASS! Putting him in his place?! Why? Because he doesn't agree with you? Where exactly is his place Perez? He's entitled to believe whatever he wants. He's American, and we all have that right. People like you are the problem with the fight for gay rights. You are hurting you're own cause because you can't seem to respect anyone else's opinions. What makes it worse is that you're famous, and here you are spouting stupid comments like that. He doesn't believe gay marriage is right, and he voiced his opinion in a very respectful way. get a clue you idiot.

  83. 83

Mario and GLAAD, the gay mafia, are bullies who believe that free speech is a right only if opinions and thoughts expressed agree with their agendas. Mario is an abusive creep who, if anyone would be desperate enough to want him, would engage in deviant sexual behavior. Mario and GLAAD, the gay mafia, label anyone and everyone as homophobic if the gay is not embraced, the twats. It's okay to not accept the gay. It's okay to dislike something, whether Mario and GLAAD, the gay mafia, like it or not. Mario and GLAAD, the gay mafia, want to FORCE everyone to accept that the gay is not unnatural, when it clearly is. Mario needs to STFU, and so does GLAAD. Now post this, you cowardly piece of shit. Whassamatter, you can't take someone calling you out, sissy? You're a worthless piece of trash, Mario. EQUAL RIGHTS FOR ALL: RESPECT FREE SPEECH.

  84. 84

I may not agree with him, but he has the right to his own opinion.

He is just a washed up actor. wanna be christian.

  86. 86

Oh, you poor haters. We can all see how desperate you are to witness the free pass you've had to hate and discriminate against gay people is just about past it's expiration date. You are the few now and growing fewer. And to those who defend his "opinion" - hate is always an "opinion", fools. Do we silently suffer hate speech in the public square? Good folks do not! So you lose and you will lose and that's a very good thing! Ask Jesus Christ about love - that what he taught, so called "christians".

  87. 87

I agree with TSizz2! He is entitled to his opinion. If he was asked that question and he gave an untruthful answer, the pc answer, then you would all be calling him a hypocrite. It is a shame, we are trying to teach acceptance, then beat down someone for having a different view than we do! We don't all have to believe the same things. That is why this country is so amazing.

  88. 88

Re: TSizz2Re: TSizz2 – Cameron was given a public forum and public voice to "express his opinion." Others have a right to disagree, and not let what he says stand on its own.

He does have the right to his opinion. Imagine then, that us heteros were the minority group, and a nice, well spoken mainstream gay said that man/woman pairing was unnatural. It may be his rightful opinion, but you'd be pissed.

  90. 90

NO.. but to openly / publicly project his anger on live TV and look stupid.. he is just stupid.. he is afterall only a D grade actor.. if this was a superstar or someone with more status.. they would have thought it through and debate with cred.. but this guy is like yesterday's news.. he is only saying these crap to get more air time in the media.. i mean really he is probably getting more yahoo search and people will be downloading Growing Pains as we speak.

  91. 91

No one is free if all are not equal. How can you love a man that you have never seen
And hate your brother that you see everyday. Hmm?

  92. 92

Re: YoUpperLipRe: TSizz2 – OMFG no effing way hes entitled to his opinion? You are so obnoxious. Hes just promoting hate let him have his back water views. I'm so sick this back of the bus BS. Love is love and hate is a part of everyday.

  93. 93

Re: TSizz2 – So if he was to say that women shouldn't be aloud to vote or that black people shouldn't have the same rights as white people, that would be ok because he is entitled to his opinion?

  94. 94

AMERICA.freedom to have your own opinion and beliefs so leave him the fuck alone….

  95. 95

for a group that insists on being tolerant - the tune sure does change if you dare disagree with them let alone oppose their viewpoint!!!!

i don't support same sex marriage and have been called a bigot, close minded and ignorant by the same people who ask for tolerance and accepetance - i have been treated with the same hate im accused of having because i dont support their viewpoint on this

I do believe in God and am not sorry for that!!! one is not homophobic or full of hate because they dont agree. Glaad seems to be narrow minded against anyone who doesn't agree with them. It seems that one must apologize to Glaad way too often for disagreeing or not condoning their lifesyle ?

seems so hippocritical to me that a group who is all about tolerance sure shows none if you dare disagree with them

if one is going to call someone a bigot for not condoning same sex marriage - start by calling God one - basically are anyways
