That's right, gurl! Stand up!
"I don't think she'd be where she is today if it wasn't for the fact that she looked like such a f–king mong. There is no better word to describe Susan Boyle. When she first came on the telly, I went, 'Is that a mong?'"
If you don't know what a "mong" is, it's derogatory term often used when referring to people suffering from Down Syndrome.
So uncalled for — offensive in every way, and without humor.
Here's what Susan had to say about it:
"I can take whatever Ricky says, because I'll tell you something. He's the one with the problem, not me. Ricky's a talented man, but he's wasted himself with those comments."
We can laugh with the rest of them when it's all in good fun and for the sake of humor — but this is just plain mean!
"I've had a lot of insults. Do you know what I do? I ignore them. I just get on with my life. Those who have something to say usually have nothing to do."
Such a good outlook!
So, did Ricky apologize? Nope! Here's his terrible explanation:
"The meaning of words change over time, 'gay' for example. The modern use of the word 'mong' means dopey and ignorant, it's in slang and urban dictionaries."
That's no excuse. Especially to use the word "gay" as an example!
We're so ashamed of you, Ricky!
Susan! Chin up — we love you!
