This is incredibly, incredibly sad.

How many more lives is this mess going to ruin?

As everyone knows, Rupert Murdoch's News Corp media empire has been absolutely devastated since the phone-hacking scandal prompted more investigations into the immoral - and sometimes illegal - practices in which many staffers partook, which has led to News of the World being scrapped and the arrests of eleven current and former employees of The Sun on suspicion of bribery, and now, it appears that it has taken its toll mentally on at least two senior journalists, who have reportedly attempted suicide.

Just awful.

The pair have been hospitalized, and News International is apparently footing the bill for their recovery.

Our thoughts go out to them, their family, and loved ones during this terribly difficult time.

I'm surprised it was only two; if I worked for that MONSTER it would be three!

Sympathies, MY ASS! They were criminals … when you accept bribes, hack people's phones, invade privacy for your personal gain … you are a criminal. Those staffers need to shut the fuck up and accept the punishment and suffer just as their victims did! Geez, Perez, whose team are YOU on?

Sun is disgusting. Hiring people to hack into your personal life to expose you to the world for financial gain is so gross. Now these people are being exposed and they want to kill themselves? You know how many people they hurt and exposed who tried and succeeded in killing THEMselves because of what this magazine did? A hell of a lot more than 2!

Suicide is the easiest thing to do. These people didn't want to die because they would've been dead if they wanted to. Just by them attempting to end themselves though, that shows how guilty Murdoch and his corporations are.

Why is it so sad when someone tries to commit suicide ? It is the single most selfish thinkg someone could do. I have no sympathy for these fools. You chose to try to end your life (just like the gays chose to live that lifestyle) so you have absolutely no sympathy from me!

Re: dryan1971 – STFU and get out already. If you're so against gay rights and sickened by it, then why are you still cruising a proud gay man's website? and you even took the time to make your own profile. Damn troll.

The example of journalistic integrity is set from the top down. The buck stops at the top.
Younger journalists may not be well versed in what's ok and what isn't, and learn that the rules of the game are how they are if they wish to keep working.
