Starbucks To Sell Single-Cup Coffee Makers!

| Filed under: Tech TalkBusiness Blitz

Starbucks New Versimo Coffee Maker

Need your daily Starbucks fix???

Soon, you’ll be able to be your OWN barista and brew your own single-cup coffees!

This fall, Starbucks’ Versimo one-cup home coffee maker will go on sale online, at high-end specialty stores and EVEN at some Starbucks stores!

Unlike Keurig machines, Versimo can make espresso drinks too, not just coffee. Starbucks previously partnered with Keurig to sell K-cups for basic brewed coffee and in 2009, started selling Via Ready Brew instant coffee.

CEO Howard Schultz believes that these goods could one day be in direct competition with Starbucks' actual cafes.

Will U be buying a Versimo this fall??

btw, I believe it is called 'Verismo'.

I hate to correct you Perez, but you're wrong about Starbucks and Keurig. Only recently has Starbucks been providing k-cups for Keurig. They had an exclusive agreement with Tassimo (made by Kraft) for quite a few years, until recently when they left Tassimo brewers for the Keurig. Just FYI.

I work at Starbucks and I really cannot understand why they keep coming out with products that compete with their own products! Last they asked us to boost sales of at-home coffee products (via and beans)….then they released K-cups but decided not to sell them at an actual Starbucks! Now they'll be upset when beverage sales drop because of their own machine….

The name is ON the machine yet you still spelled the name wrong. Keurig is the shit! I love mine, and after spending the money on it I have no desire to buy this one.

Mr. Schultz is just implementing his 3-Part Plan to recovery in hard economic times:
    -
Get a bailout from a "friend in high places", give lots of bonuses and then declare bankruptcy, and pocket billions.
    -
    Voila!

No one will be able to afford them.

As a single female, this might be nice, kind of getting tired of using coffee bags (do not usually go to Starbucks and when I do, I get the iced green tea sweetened). One cup in the morning is usually all I need. Thanks for posting this.
