Oprah's Network Gets Record Ratings With Bobbi Kristina Interview

| Filed under: TV NewsOprah WinfreyWhitney Houston

own ratings bobbi oprah

Oprah's most watched program on her network is now the interview she did with Bobbi Kristina after Whitney Houston's death.

But really, it wouldn't have taken much to set that record — the regular ratings are struggling — so the 3.5 MILLION viewership was even bigger than expected!!

It even earned a 3.1 rating in the network's sought after women 25-54 demo, while still building every half hour, improving between 9:00 and 10:30 p.m.!

That's fab for the network! Hopefully people will stick around and start watching other programming too!

Did U catch the interview??

Both Oprah and Whitney's family capitalizing off her death. Sad.

Shame on Oprah for pouncing on this young woman who only recently lost her mother, but is doing so under the guise of friendship & compassion. Oprah's returned to her 80's roots by doing exploitive interviews & preying on the vulnerable. BK needs time to grieve and be out of the public's judgemental spotlight. She's easily swayed right now by seemingly caring adults and for Oprah to take advantage of her like this is absolutely disgusting. I'm repulsed by Oprah and by BK's family who should be protecting her right now, not encourging her to jump into the limelight. People lose loved ones every day and they don't need to go on national tv to "heal their soul." BK isn't a celebrity - her mother was. Oprah's such a vile vulture to cash in on Whitney's death & to try to up OWN's ratings by using Whitney's trusting & grieving kid like this.

Re: Meggie246524 – Glad to see I am not the only one repulsed by this. Oprah has sunk to Kardashian levels with this.

I myself have not seen the interview…and don't plan to. Instead of allowing this young woman time to grieve (by time I mean at least 3-6 months), she does the ambulance chaser thing and gets Whitney's daughter for an interview. I didn't like Oprah before all of this… I sure as heck like her even less.

I'm so tired of hearing about this ugly, zero talent girl. She's already an entitled, spoiled, drug-addled moron who, sadly, is a waiting train wreck just like her Mother was and her Father is. And don't even get me started on Oprah. I'm so tired of her. The sooner we forget about these losers, the better.

Prior to W.H.'s death, I didn't even know her daughter's name. Now there are countless articles about her. Is she a more tragic figure then other young girls who've lost their mothers? Apparently, she is. According to our celebrity obsessed society, this girl's grief is special because her mother was well known. I'm surprised W.H.'s death is an event at all. Her abusive lifestyle guaranteed her life would end suddenly and tragically. And so it did. The media bonanza that followed has been ridiculous.

That was the whole point, now wasn't it?

Sorry, I only watch Oprah when I get stuck on jury duty.

Oprah doing what Oprah does isn't a surprise. Instead of sitting in an empty house, maybe Bobbi Kristina will benefit from some of the attention. It's lively and exciting on a set for a girl her age.
She can say no if she feels like it. Talking helps sort things out.

She changed her name to Kristina Houston. Slammin ol Bobby in the kisser I'd say!! LOL…
