bear grylls releases statement about getting fired from discovery channel

The Man vs. Wild star can survive ANYTHING - so of course he can survive getting fired!

Earlier today, we were bummed to hear that Bear Grylls was fired by the Discovery Channel following months of contract disputes.

Now, Bear's publicist has released a statement about the firing, which reads as follows:

"Bear's goal has always been to make life-empowering shows for his many fans around the globe, and he has taken great risks to bring Discovery such award winning programming over seven seasons. Unfortunately, Bear and Discovery have not been able to come to mutual agreement on new programming, and he disagrees with Discovery's decision to terminate current productions. Bear has loved the Man vs. Wild journey and looks forward to producing further cutting edge content again soon for his loyal audience."

We're sorry that Bear and Discovery couldn't work things out, but we'll definitely be curious to hear about his next big project! We're thinking it will have something to do with survival and manliness. Ha!

Good luck, Bear!!!!!!!!!!

What a shame. One can learn a lot from this guy, that's for sure.

What other channel would handle his kind of show? I hope he comes back to TV soon, hough; he's a truly fearless individual who never fails to remind me how small man is compared to the world we live in.

this dude is a damn fraud he would film the show and then go stay at the nearest 4 or 5 star hotel

he's so fake, if you want to support a real survivalist, you should watch les stroud. He doesn't stay at fancy hotels and eat at restaurants as soon as the cameras stop rolling.
