Teri Hatcher Thinks Surprise Housewives Death Was A Bad Idea, Pitches Idea To Bring Character Back To Life!
SPOILER ALERT!!! (Unless, of course, you've already seen Sunday's episode…)
As previously reported, Desperate Housewives got a shock to the system over James Denton's character Mike Delfino's death. While the world (and the Internet) was distraught, no one was more against the decision than James' on-screen wife, Teri Hatcher.
Teri tried to save her TV husband by pitching a different idea to the show's producers. She asked if Mike's death could actually be a veil and at the series' end, Mike could be brought back, alive and well, with Susan and MJ flying out to Bolivia to be with him.
Unfortunately, the producers said no dice.
Teri said the following about her disappointment:
I always thought the audience wanted to see Mike and Susan finally happy and safe but that place did not sustain itself for [Desperate Housewives creator] Marc [Cherry] or ABC, I guess.
Looks like this Desperate Housewife is single again…
