Nooo!! We have to order a pint first!!

The popular pub and music venue The Hobbit, located in Southampton, UK has been threatened legal action by the studio behind Lord of the Rings!

The bar, which has pictures of hobbits from the movie, including Elijah Wood Frodo, and of course, Gandalf, played by Ian McKellan, has been accused of copyright infringement and could be shut down any day now!!

After being in business for over 20 years, owner Stella Mary Roberts seems to already be backing down without a fight.

She admitted:

"We were absolutely stunned. It was completely unexpected, we never intended to infringe anyone's copyright. Are we doing any harm? I don't think so. We're bringing people to the books and the stories who haven't heard of JRR Tolkien.

We don't have the financial resources to fight it - I can't fight Hollywood."

That just breaks our little hobbit hearts.

Thankfully, loyal customers are taking action and have started a "Save the Hobbit" Facebook page, which so far has over 35,000 Likes.

WAY TO GO!!!

In the meantime, co-owners of the pub have said that they ARE taking action:

"We are aware of the situation and are currently consulting with our legal advisors."

FIGHT! Fight to stay in business!! Sam would be proud!!!!!!

There have been The Hobbit bars, bristos and sandwich shops since the nineteen-seventies. I can't really tell by looking at this picture if the stylized Galdalf, et. al are ripped off line-art of the movie people but I wouldn't think a place that was in business before the movie comes out would have much to worry about (IMO)…
