Rosie O'Donnell's talk show on Oprah Winfrey's OWN network has just been cancelled.

Bummer!!!

Says O'Donnell about the cancellation, "I loved working with Oprah in the amazing city of Chicago. I was welcomed with open arms and will never forget the kindness of all I encountered. It was a great year for me — I wish the show was able to attract more viewers — but it did not. So I am headed back to my home in New York — with gratitude. On we go!"

Since its debut, the show failed to attract significant viewership.

Rosie didn't seem too heartbroken over the news going public. Instead of going into hiding, O'Donnell Tweeted about going to see the Broadway show Other Desert Cities instead.

Broadway always makes the blues go away!

Of Rosie's axing, Oprah says: "I thank Rosie from the bottom of my heart for joining me on this journey. She has been an incredible partner, working to deliver the best possible show every single day," Winfrey said in a statement. "As I have learned in the last 15 months, a new network launch is always a challenge and ratings grow over time as you continue to gather an audience. I'm grateful to Rosie and the dedicated Rosie Show team for giving it their all."

The last episode of The Rosie Show airs March 30th.

WELL, IT SUCKED. SHE'S BORING. NO SURPRISE HERE. I watched it once for 10 minutes AND just the sound of her voice drove me crazy.

  2. 2

Not a big surpise. The show was horrible.

  3. 3

    Didn't she take your advice?

  4. 4

No great loss…it was O.K….noth'n special. The BIG O shoulda given it at least a year….

  5. 5

See, I totally disagree. I guess I might be the only one…but when the show first began, it was wonderful. Really was. So fun, energetic, and I enjoyed hearing about Rosie and her guests.

I think it's the higher ups who didn't want to deal with it. Now, it's just a show about Rosie chatting with people who are boring. Sometimes, it is fun. Other times…ehh.

  6. 6

I REFUSED TO WATCH! If Rosie did not SUCK, LICK, PULVERIZE, & INFLATE Oprah's cavernous TWAT…LIVE ON TV…NO CAN WATCH!

  7. 7

What a FAT DISGUSTING ANGRY & BITTER REPULSIVE BULL-DYKE!

  8. 8

no surprise on the cancellation, big surprise this bitch gets any work at all.

  9. 9

Haven't seen the show on OWN (can't afford the extra Directv fee for OWN) but she used to be good on her other show.

  10. 10

What a pity. Rosie is a straight shooter. That makes some people uncomfortable. I think she will find something else.

  11. 11

Re: Gracie 2004 – Sorry, but I tend to disagree. You can be a straight shooter, (John Wayne, Jimmie Stewart) without being obnoxious. She tends to make people feel as if it's her opinion or the highway.

  12. 12

Rosie is the ONLY thing on there I watched!

  13. 13

the over/under was 3 months, she made the under. now if the whole network will fold, and go back to the subtopic discovery channel it was.

  14. 14

I always felt that the show should have come LIVE! from a terrace at Rosie's Miami house. 'Something about blue sky, sunshine and palm trees always seem to make a boring talk show more attractive. (Just ask Kelly Ripa). But it would have been a different city perspective nationally and she would have been able to be as in control and relaxed as a Cuban Don Juan showing off his prowess to a group of uptight stud newbies.

  15. 15

well, the show sucked. rosie came across as insincere. the cloud of anger that has been over her head the last decade or so has stripped her of the charm and wit she showed on her first talk show. oh well…

  16. 16

What a surprise, who could have seen this coming ?????
    Rosie & wife #1 , over
    Rosie Magazine, over
    Rosie TV Variety Show canceled
    Rosie & girlfriend #2 over
    B'Way Show Taboo closed
    Rosie's Big Gay Show, canceled
    And now this

  17. 17

I don't understand why people don't like old, angry, judgemental people like Rosie. What's wrong with this nation?

  18. 18

Her personality and style would lead people to conclude she is obnoxious. It is the discomfort I mentioned. Comes with being a woman with strong opinions. Obnoxious, no. If we want to talk obnoxious watch Howard Stern or what's his name, Donald Trump.

  19. 19

Wait…..OWN cancelled a show? What are they replacing it with……Oprah reruns??

  20. 20

Agree with a few commenters on here. Whatever. NEXT.

Prediction: By the end of March, April latest, this show will be cancelled.

  22. 22

She's an obnoxious lesbian pig. Good riddance!

  23. 23

Re: Gracie 2004 – There's no discomfort. For someone as opinionated as she claims to be, she has a really thin skin and can't handle people criticizing her. While she may not be *as* obnoxious as Howard and Donald, she is still obnoxious, not to mention, painfully unfunny.

  24. 24

too bad we can't get Operas shows cancelled on the Own network.

  25. 25

What went wrong? Enraged water buffaloes are usually entertaining to watch.

  26. 26

I actually knew about this already a few weeks ago cause Im from Chicago, and it was announced on the local news that Rosie put her home on sale and was moving to New York. Personally I never watched her show ( cause I don't watch too much tv ) but I liked having her in town.

  27. 27

She's fast approaching your failure record.

  28. 7tizz says – reply to this

    28

She did a complete 360 of a show over what she got famous for. She also went bat-crap-crazy when she left her talk show and I'm guessing was a huge turn off to potential viewers…at least that's the impression I got from her in the media. Wasn't she always fighting with Donald Trump, Howard Stern, and the entire country of Jamacia? OWN needs to fire their entire media consultants who greenlit her in the first place. Clearly, homework was not done if they thought she could help launch a network or bring in the ratings.

  29. 29

How many more times will Hollywood try and shove her ugly, rude, mean ass at us before they figure out that nobody wants to watch her! Ellen has the female, gay talk show host throne right now and she's nice, fun and happy too! Go away Rosie and don't come back!

  30. 30

I didnt like her show format at first (seemed she was trying too hard) but i liked the show when it was changed to the one on one interviews.

  31. 31

She has always seemed, to me, to be an angry and mean person. Nobody can watch that every day. Maybe Oprah can try her once a week in a cringe comedy like The Office (BBC) or Curb Your Enthusiasm.

  32. 32

I would love to watch Rosie play with herself!

  33. 33

No shocker there. Seriously The View was her best gig, she should go back & they should shit can Hassellbeck or Babs. Rosie's show stunk & I TRIED to like it. Yesterday that hack singer croaking out Danny Boy was enough to make a non drinker hit the booze. Awful & so 1963. Come on Rose it is 2012 get used to it. If it were really 1963 you'd be in the closet.

  34. 34

Re: MR Pete – So true. You nailed it. I think it is because she is so angry & negative that is what she attracts. & Why? She has an amazing life compared to most.

  35. PHARO says – reply to this

    35

THE ZIONISTS GOT THEIR WAY AGAIN..1ST THEY MADE ABC GET RID OF HER ON THE VIEW ALL BECAUSE SHE SPEAKS THE TRUTH AND THEY DON'T WANT ANYONE TO KNOW IT.

  36. 36

Rosie has alienated too many people with her pro-lesbian agenda. That's all good and fine for her, but if she wants to remain popular with the general public she needs to go back to her old "in the closet" persona, which was much more likeable. Nobody wants a ranting raving MAN-WANNABEE in their living room. She's washed up.

  37. 37

Re: PHARO – I think the "Zionists" would have welcomed her with open arms if she was bringing in any money for them. Nobody wants to watch an angry bull-dyke…the Zionists have given her more than her fair share of chances. Truth is…America is repulsed by her. Face it!!

  38. 38

Who cares!? She is a loud mouth obnoxious liberal freak. F*CK off Rosie O'Donell you worthless pig! And Oprah? F*ck you too B*tch! OWN will shut down soon and hopefully, she and Rosie will just go away and F*ck off!

  39. 39

    Re: Gracie 2004
    STFU

  40. 40

    Dear Chris_Mu,

STFU? I did not know what you meant and had to look this up as I am in the habit of speaking English. Now that I know what it means I still support Rosie. As an aside, in the future will the English language be obsolete as we resort to STFU? Perhaps you can start compiling a new dictionary.

  41. 41

I was sad to see it go, I watched it faithfully and got to be in the audience 7 times. I could tell though Rosie was unsure of it though cause it didnt have the genuine feeling and I think that came from her not being in NYC and also not having her own staff to work with. I hope the rumors I hear of her doing broadway are true, I need a trip to NYC soon :)

  42. 42

I use to LOVE Rosie but I have had my fill of her talking about and trying to convince herself that she is gay. She is obivously struggling with her own personal identity, sexually and physically. She was and is unfourtunatly an unhappy and lost soul. my heart and prayers go to her and her family as it may be. And I hope she learns how to smile for real again.

  43. 43

Re: rofan21 – How does one find the time to be in the audience of a T.V. show 7 times in as many months and still never miss a show? Id like to know cause it sounds like a fun life style to me. And if Rosie buys a part or show on Broadway dont waste any time getting tickets, judging only by her history what ever she ends up doing or buying isnt going to be around too long.

  44. 44

Re: MR Pete – and lets not forget her disasterouse turn on the view.

  45. 45

This is my last post on rosie and i`ll move on . I just find it very hard to understand how someone with so much success can be so miserable, ungrateful, rude, self centered and all around nasty person. I had the misfourtune to meet her with her children at Disney and even in the magic kingdom there was no magic in her eyes or face. I guess its true what they say, money cant buy happiness. but i sure would give it a try.
