President Obama Lays The Smackdown On Republicans Over Gas Prices Rhetoric

President Obama knows that gas prices won't lower themselves by magic.

As gas continues to go up, the POTUS continues to preach an "all of the above" energy plan and bashes Republicans for trying to stir Americans with their promises of cheap gas.

Obama's Republican smackdown took place at Prince George's Community College in Largo, MD. While he didn't name anyone, the POTUS went after his competitors, stating that if this was back in the days of Columbus, Republicans would be a part of the "flat earth society."

He continues his verbal beating by asking "why not $2.40, or $2.10" as "some" GOP'ers have promised 2.50.

Republicans tried to offer a rebuttal with Obama's rejection of the Keystone XL pipeline, as if this would be a magical cure.

But we won't mention how the pipeline would take YEARS to build, cost TONS of cash, and will hurt the environment.

Seriously, we aren't mentioning that.

The President concluded that drilling for oil isn't the only way to go, stating that alternative fuel sources need to be combined with drilling.

Won't anyone listen to the POTUS?! We NEED solar and bio-fueled energy!

Does anyone really think that the party that began two unnecessary wars for oil by hiding them behind 9/11 wouldn't stoop so low as to lie about why prices are as they are and wouldn't make false promises? There's no doubt Iraq and Afghanistan were started for private interests. There was never any evidence that Al Qaeda had ties to either country, and where's the WMD that Hussein was hiding? This oil price problem began with Bush, but Republicans don't tell you that.

Ironically, the gas prices are so astronomically high because of inflation and because of TAXES. NY has the most expensive gas cost out of any state right now (currently over $4/gal), and that's because literally half of the cost of it is TAXES. If you cross over into NJ or PA or another surrounding state, all of a sudden there is a drop in $0.40-$0.60 cents a gallon! Keep talking Obama, you sound like a fucking moron!

It's also worth noting that the USA has a HUGE amount of oil but we stupidly export it & SELL IT TO OTHER COUNTRIES instead of keeping it local! It's a big scam all around.

Re: futuremrslabeouf – Yet Obama is starting up new wars in other countries that have oil as well. Don't be blind, both sides are fooling everyone. They're 2 sides of the same coin.

Let's not forget that when Bush was president and gas prices went up, democrats and the media blamed him and piled on him to bring the prices down.

Horrible President, thank goodness this criminal will be gone in January. He can take Eric Holder and babbling Biden with him. And NO I am not a Republican, just an Eye's Wide Open American with a degree in Political Science.

Perez, quit throwing Obama rhetoric at us. Common sense will prevail! Our country is rich with NATURAL energy (oil, coal natural gas). He said no to Keystone. We import from our enemies. Don't tell me it's because he's trying to save the world, because the United States and the Middle East are both on the same world. Obama quote from 2008 "I think that I would have preferred a gradual adjustment. The fact that this is such a shock to American pocketbooks is not a good thing." What the hell, he doesn't care that prices go up, just wanted it more gradual so nobody would notice! So until they start pumping his stupid algae idea at the local gas station (let alone an engine designed to process it! lol), we need a president, that understands what America needs right now, jobs, real and available energy, a rising GDP, and did I say JOBS! Let Obama mouth off all he wants common sense and empty wallets will prevail!

    OBAMA IS A PHUCKING IDIOT

Please when will this so called POtUS ever stand up and take the hit for SOMETHING! Do you know his Secretary OF Energy, Steven Chew, said he thinks our gas prices should be more like European prices $9.00 a gallon, and they lost his balls last week before Congress said no I changed my feeling about gas prices they are to high. And for those that do not think the pipeline will take TOO long to build and to Expensive, well tell me how Long and How Expensive green projects will take to build and the cost? Well I'm sure our great great grandchildren might see them come on line,..if we are lucky. The man is do determined to make the poor and middle class dependent on the government for EVERYTHING..we are in DEEP SHIT if he is re-elected. Pres stick to stories about Zac Efron droppinghis rubbers on the red carpet and CHanning Tatum going skinny dipping with other MEN

  13. 13

Perez….you are so uninformed its frightening. You post as if you know when you clearly don't.You know nothing about Keystone and i'm waiting for your posts on Solyndra, etc. You and he are a joke.

  14. 14

Mario, stick to sucking dick cause you have no clue to the real world.

    1. Even the beginning of building would drop gas prices. It was proven when Bush allowed more US drilling, OPEC paniced and lowered their prices.

    2. Building the pipeline would create JOBS.

    3. Quoting Oblahblah only makes you look like more of a fucking idiot.

  15. 15

Riiight. Drilling for more oil, access to more oil, won't help the gas prices at all…Which is why Obama has agreed to tap the US's emergency oil supply in order to attempt lower gas prices before the election. Makes so much sense. About as much sense as Obama's support for oh so successful alternative energy companies like Solyndra (Lost 500+ million of the countries money)… Google it. Get educated. Seriously. Jeez.

  16. 16

There is literally more oil under US soil than there is in any part of the Middle East. The problem is Obama is not allowing anyone to drill. Yes, we would all like clean energy eventually, but its a process and it takes time. So in the meantime why not reopen the Gulf to drilling, with the new safety measures, and let them drill in the Bakken in North Dakota. This would reduce our gas prices and stop our dependency on foreign oil completely. Sounds like a win-win situation to me.

OIl prices are manipulated. TransCanada would be footing the Keystone bill while providing American jobs. How does one big pipe 'hurt the environment?' Have you SEEN the existing map of all the pipelines that currently and already run back and forth across that aquifer??? It looks like a crayon drawing by a 4 year old with lots of crayons. TransCanada is willing to MOVE it somewhere else. The solar companys have turned into a public funded boondoggle that looks more like some buddy scam at this point. Google Solyndra and some others.

After filing for bankruptcy last year, Fremont solar company Solyndra still owes American taxpayers half a billion dollars. But CBS 5 caught them destroying millions of dollars worth of parts.

  19. 19

You're all a bunch of idiots.

Free renewable energy has been routinely suppressed according to sources all over the place that you can run into without even looking.

  21. 21

Boo hoo. He's getting the same treatment Bush got when gas prices went up.

  22. 22

Re: bellabambina – Have to agree, voted for him in the last election, big mistake.

  23. 23

There is so much oil under the US than we will even know what to do with if we just drill. To fix gas prices, we should start creating more pipelines in desolate places - like Alaska, ND - and simultaneously think of alternate ways to run our houses and cars. But we can't abruptly stop the use of oil with no good, sold backup plan. If we want cheap gas, we should just tap a small amount into the huge reserves we have. The problem will start to diminish almost immediately. Fuck the middle east, we don't want their oil and their problems anyway. We have enough of our own. Drill.

  25. 25

    Who believes in Republicans?

  26. 26

This is B S gas prices would start going down as soon as the project gets started. Opec would sh*t themselves… plus the u.s has higher environmental standards than China who will buy that canada pipeline in a flash. Not to mention all the jobs that would be created and just in that simulate the economy and make people feel better. Plus clean energy so far is also unsustainable since it's so expensive. One thing is for sure, if we have oil here in the us or canada… why the hell are we importing, and sending MONEY that could be used in this economy, from a country that literally HATES us. That makes no sense. I'm so sick of all the bull that comes out of Obama's mouth. Also I can't believe that it takes just a couple of big words for Americans to be like "wow he's so smart" and sh*t, no actually he's just bsing you.

  27. 27

stop blaming the president and blame the companies themselves they continuously claim record profits and yet prices keep rising. they are greedy and just want to make as much money as possible and don't care about the american people. everyone is always so quick to blame the president for everything and even if we get a new president this election it won't stop people will just blame that president for everything.
