The singer, who is pregnant with twins, WILL headline the festival in 2018 -- so at least the Beyhivé has that!
In a statement to The Associated Press on Thursday, Bey's Parkwood Entertainment and festival producer Goldenvoice said:
Life is not a movie, and unfortunately, four teens from Utah learned that the hard way.
A 16-year-old girl reportedly threw a party this past weekend while her parents were out of town that she hoped to turn to a rager like the one featured in Project X, which is a found-footage film about a similar situation that spirals out of control.
However, she may have gotten more than she bargained for, as over 100 people ended up showing up, some adults and from various cities and counties, as well as members of rival gangs - which led to one armed suspect open firing inside the home, and shooting four people…including HER!
Although only one remains hospitalized stemming from the shooting, the gunman is still at large. Authorities have revealed that no one injured had any gang affiliations, although 40 partygoers were detained by police, 13 of which were arrested on charges of alcohol possession and consumption.
Meanwhile, Project X distributor Warner Bros. says in a statement that it "does not condone — and strongly discourages — anyone from attempting to imitate conduct portrayed by actors in a controlled environment during the filming of a motion picture."
All we can say is DUH!
We can't imagine this poor girl could even grasp the scope and gravity of what she was actually doing by letting her party go viral, but obviously, we hope that anyone with similar aspirations thinks twice about doing so after reading about this.
Thank goodness nobody was killed, and we sincerely wish those injured swift and relatively painless recoveries.
