He's right. Terrible movie. Bad script, bad story, Roberts horrible acting. Watch it again as an adult, it will make you cringe!
This is ridiculous. People are so dramatic. You know it WAS a silly romcom. The best silly romcom I've ever watched. Yes it was silly and lighthearted and entertaining. A nice relaxing movie that took no effort to watch. I don't see anything wrong about that comment, if indeed he really did say it.
Sure, it wasn't Shakespeare, but the underlying message of cross-class triumph over adversity and great odds struck a huge chord for whatever reason. That's an inspiring message. Plus it was more fun to sit through than Shakespeare.
