Listen To This: Feeling Weightless!

| Filed under: Listen To ThisKerli

Wow! This is a smash!!!

That's the only way to describe this new song by Kerli!

With the first single off her third album, the Estonian singer has finally come into her own!

She's also softened up her image and become more mainstream, while still keeping her quirk.

But this song is a big! A total hit and we LOVE it!!!

you're kidding right? This song is terrible. Her lyrics have always left something to be desired, and there isn't anything memorable about this except for how poorly executed it was. She should've stopped at the song and NOT done this video, the effects and green screen look incredibly cheap, not to mention the blatent Bjork rip-offs and references to anime. Kerli you're 26 and you need to grow up. And before you all say I'm some Gaga Stan, I'm not, I see Kerli as an individual and I am judging her based on what SHE is putting out, not comparing her to anyone else.

Re: yulituli – While I LOVE her previous stuff, I'm not a huge fan of this song but it is nice to dance to. But really, you are kind of overly critical. You can choose to listen or not to. No need to trash her when the mindless Gaga drones and others who worship some other singer do it enough. You're trying to sound classy with your, well her lyrics have always left something to be desired comment but you really just come off like a cheap jacka$$ She's stated on her FB page this is the route she wants to take, and well if her songs are less appealing to me then, oh well… but she is trying. Also, since when does the NUMBER of your age actually account for how you FEEL? Please, are you 20 and feel and talk like an 80 year old prune? :) Just saying! Age is but a number, what you feel in your heart is your true age! Besides, anime ref. is done by LOTS not just her. Don't tell her to grow up, that's like trying to mold her into something she doesn't want to be. YOU wouldn't like it if I told YOU to act like this, and do that. I know I don't and I LOVE a good throw-down.

    Re: yulituli

You seem like a pretty hateful person.. Why can't you just support an artist that is doing what they love and enjoying it, rather than pointlessly bashing her? With what it costs to make a music video and the fact that she isn't very mainstream popular, you shouldn't expect the most amazing effects. She isn't able dish out 500k on her music videos like every other artist for flawless CGI and other effects.

    Re: yulituli

Bjork rip-offs? Hah, just because someone does something similar to another artist doesn't make it a rip-off. Maybe if you took some time out of your aimless bashing, probably due to some unresolved childhood issues, and actually looked into the meaning and ideas behind the video you wouldn't be so judgmental.

    Re: yulituli
She's 26, loving life, and expressing her self by dressing in a way that is very individualistic, while not giving a sh** about the opinions of others. You're the one that needs to grow up, not her. If you really did see her as an individual like you claim, you wouldn't be bashing.

I don't normally follow these boards, so don't expect a response if you have anything else to say (I wouldn't care if you did anyways). I'll just leave you with her words about the meaning behind the song:

"Hopefully, you will feel love when you listen to it.. cause that's honestly the only kinda emotion I'm into bringing into the world at this point. Hopefully, you're coming on this journey with me because our potential as spiritual beings is limitless and we are meant to be beautiful, full of joy and celebrating every moment of being alive. We're given breath when we're born and it's taken away from us when we die.. So, I don't wanna waste any time not feeling, giving and receiving all the goodness there is."

wow, you say your opinion on here and get attacked! Sorry I have a different opinion then yall but I stick by my words. I just don't like the song or video, and I wanted to voice MY opinion just like you guys are all voicing YOUR opinion. I'm sure there's stuff out there that you don't like, that's the beauty in the world! We all have opinions. I respect yours, so please, respect mine.

Kerli was and still is a phenomenal artist. :)

I remember when Kerli was trying to appeal to the "goth"/alternative crowd. It's kind of sad to see her go "mainstream"…but I have to admit. I'm liking this.

though i've heard of kerli before, i never listened to her. i gave this a chance but it is awful, garish, she looks like a cheap clown. i cant believe this is toned down or softened up for the mainstream. if that's so, i'd hate to know how gaudy her old looks were.
