Sign Penn Badgley up for Team Hunger Games!

The Gossip Girl Boy is new to the trilogy but he says some similarities in the flick and the Occupy movement.

Penn, who is an avid follower of Occupy Wall Street, said the following about HG and OWS:

It's the one percent [killing the kids]. I think you'd have to be blind to not see that. I was shocked to see all that in there.

The actor goes on to say that if (SPOILER ALERT) Katniss didn't revolt, then it would be completely "irresponsible," stating:

I thought it was just going to be the games. But then I realized, and I thought, 'If this doesn't end in revolution, it's irresponsible, because of everything it's bringing up.' If Katniss doesn't become a f**king revolutionary, then I don't know what they're doing. And as it went on, I went, 'F**k! That's what they're doing!' Which is cool.

We guess someone might be reading the books too!

    Yeah sure!

he's completely right. the "hunger games" will be the future of america, i wouldn't be surprised if it was within the next 20 years… the way this country is heading, the gap just gets wider, and the people will suffer. a revolution needs to happen, but it hasn't happened yet, in real life. life=not free. its just getting more expensive, and the resources are becoming more scarce.

Penn should give all his money away to the 99% ASAP!
    Actions speak louder than words!

There he is, Penn Badgley. The intellectual level of a Lefty on display.
    -
Occupy Wall Street = Monkeys flinging poo.

Video footage obtained by The Daily Caller, shows Occupy Wall Street protesters dumping large amounts of human urine and fecal matter around Lower Manhattan on the night of March 14.
    -
A surveillance camera caught several people, who have been identified as members of the Occupy movement by the New York Police Department, pouring a large bucket of waste down a flight of stairs at the corner of Nassau and Cedar Streets.
    -
Around 20 minutes later, one man entered a Chase ATM vestibule on Water Street and dumped another large container of the repulsive mix.
    -
The very personification of their “movement”.
    Be proud Penn. Be proud.

What a fucking moron. Get an education moron before you open your mouth and confirm to everyone that you're stupid.

Typical, misguided thing I would expect an actor (particularly one on a show about the elitist spoiled brats of New York) to say. When did financial crime (which happened during the Great Depression as well) become the slaughtering of teenagers? If you ask me, with how stupid the average American teen is becoming thanks to shows like Gossip Girl, maybe survival of the fittest (and brightest) wouldn't hurt :P

It is funny but I thought the same thing…if we don't stop the crazy far right wing and the far left and bring things back to the center, this is a world we will end up having. Now the crazies are raging a war against women. We are not dumb we can see what is going on.

You need a 10 inch dildo crammed up your smelly cun*t.

Perez, I didn't realize so many of your readers were right-wing lug nuts! It seems that they are cheering for the ultra rich and like the idea that they, themselves (or their children), will be begging for food in the future.

Re: HollarID – What you don't get is that we are moderates, Independents that work, and realize America gives EVERYONE in this country the opportunity to make it and succeed. Yes, corporate executives who are slime and very greedy need to be taken down, but to be pissed that someone has worked hard and made it in this country is a joke. Occupy has NO credibility now, and then the far left just wants to keep giving handouts to people that don't want to work, have multiple baby daddies for their kids, and no fathers around. We are not far right nut jobs, just the part of America that has common sense! For actors to condone Occupy is a joke when those idiots are shitting and peeing everywhere. If someone is out Occupying everyday how are they working? How are they paying their bills? Oh yeah, I am sure many are on assistance which means WE are paying their bills. Occupy Oakland there was a lady complaining that she is being kicked out of her apartment because she went to go protest and didn't go to work! Boo F—ing Hoo!!

Such articulate comments coming from this man!! NOT. By the way, he's trashing the 1% which is he is clearly a part of..makes total sense, right? Nope.

I am probably the only person that thinks this but I think that Penn could POSSIBLY be a good Finnick. I am not feeling the whole Taylor Kitsch bandwagon

The two main things I do NOT want to see happen with the Hunger Games franchise:
1 - it become a teen phenomenon. Seriously, it's laughable to compare the writing in this series (books) to that of the Twilight series. Same goes for the movie, and I expect the next two to be even better. I'm guilty for bringing it up, but I seriously can't stand the comparisons that are being made between the two….!!!

2 - The true brilliance of the story line being tainted by political agendas. Sure, it has a theme there (how our society could go to crap), but let's not make this a blue vs. red thing.

Other than that - the movie is GREAT! Really sticks to the plot just about as much as possible when it comes to book-to-film!! :)
