Fargo May Be Headed To Television

Fargo tv series

Are U a fan of the 1996 Coen brothers' film Fargo?

If so, you'll either jump for joy or cringe when we tell you that FX is considering turning the Academy Award winner into a television series.

No deals are in place yet, but MGM Television is looking to partner with the network on a show revolving around a female detective solving brutal murders in small town North Dakota.

Does this sound like something U would want to watch?

How many brutal murders can a small town have?

    I'm on team cringe.

I live in ND, we have alot of murders. Not as many as a big city, but this is where the oil industry is and people are getting kidnapped, abducted, and murdered. Throats have been slit, women have been raped and murdered, and drugs have taken over our quiet place of the world.

Back in 1998 Kathy Bates filmed a pilot for a Fargo tv series but it was never picked up.

In reference to "Hunger is not a Game", for those of you who are not aware, there is a world food crisis. Who cares how attention is brought to this urgent issue. How could they think of suing this charity when they look at the figures the movie has grossed. Getting the word out on world hunger is the priority, not suing for using the name of a Hollywood movie. Our priorities have to be re-examined and what are we waiting for?

    Great movie…leave it alone FFS!

Have you seen the movie Fargo? Only about 10 minutes of it takes place in Fargo, ND (that's where Jerry finds the guys to kidnap his wife). The murders happen in Brainerd, MN. In fact, the majority of the movie takes place in Minnesota.

As a Fargo native, I don't necessarily hate the idea… Some of us do… I think if they film on location (in Fargo) and use some of the local talent we have here, it could have a chance of not sucking. Location - Seriously, the Movie was almost never in Fargo. People - The accents they used in the movie were… wrong. On so may levels. And Fargo/Moorhead has a very large community of actors. Maybe do some casting here?
