Deborah Cox & Constantine Maroulis Revamp 90’s Broadway Sensation: Jekyll & Hyde

| Filed under: Broadway BabiesAmerican Idol

Musical theatre mavens, you best get excited!

Oh-so-long ago in that magical decade we fondly label as AWKWARD — the ‘90s — The Great White Way housed the schizophrenic sensation: Jekyll & Hyde.

The musical version of Robert Louis Stevenson’s The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, which had a 4-year Broadway run rife with accolades and awards, is set to RETURN to the Manhattan city lights in 2013, following a 25-week national tour.

Grammy nominee Deborah Cox is confirmed to play Lucy, the leading lady and love interest of Constantine Maroulis’ (remember…from American Idol??) character(s) Jeckyll & Hyde.

The show will feature all the original music, but has been completely re-envisioned by two-time Oscar winner, Emmy winner and four-time Tony Award Nominee Leslie Bricusse, and will be directed and choreographed by Tony Award Nominee Jeff Calhoun.

Ooo!!! We hope it’s deliciously dark and fun, fun, fun! We have been jonesing for some classic broadway cheekiness!!

Will U buy tickets to Jekyll & Hyde???

    I'll be there!

I thought his dream was to be a singer; his Broadway gigs just shows you how desperate these Idol Hacks are…

Yessss.. I'll be online as soon as J&H tix go on sale; can't wait to see this duo in the revised "dark and dangerous love story." And, yes, I remember Constantine from American Idol and was happy to see him receive a Best Actor Tony nomination -the first (and only?) AI alum to achieve that honor.
