Neighborhood Watch's Poorly Timed Promotional Teaser Reminds Us Of Trayvon Martin Murder

| Filed under: Film FlickersVince VaughnSad SadJonah HillBen Stiller

Well this just sucks.

Due to the tragic Trayvon Martin shooting by a civillian who wasn’t even part of a Neighborhood Watch program, Twentieth Century Fox has decided to pull all current promotional trailers/posters of their upcoming summer alien-invasion comedy, Neighborhood Watch.

The movie, starring Vince Vaughn, Jonah Hill and Ben Stiller is about a group of dads who join their Neighborhood Watch program to get away from their families, only to end up battling an alien invasion.

While the movie is really an alien-takeover comedy and the only thing it shares with the Trayvon Martin killing is the Neighborhood Watch aspect, the initial teaser for the film features the four main characters cruising through a suburban neighborhood, drive-by style, while Hill makes a gun motion out of the car window.

EEEEE! Just…unfortunate.

Ch-ch-check out the controversial trailer (above) and see for yourself how it could EASILY be misinterpreted as being all to similar to the awful situation in Florida.

thats too bad. just bad timing. Looks like a funny cast though! A little surprised there's no token black dad in the background.

  4. 4

yes the Trayvon situation is a sad one, but to pull the trailers for this movie is just stupid.

    1. Uhh Perez, George Zimmerman was the NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH CAPTAIN. It could've taken a quick Google search or look at CNN to find that out.

    2. And REPUB, your lack of humanity is showing. Thugs aren't armed with a cell phone, a bag of Skittles, and an iced tea.

Re: REPUB – I generally don't respond to racist white trash, but I will make an exception with you. No Child in this nation deserves to be gunned down while walking home from a convienience store. PEriod. Enough said.

You got to be kidding me. How uptight, idiotic and overall pansified have americans become. BOOHOO one NIG#$# died. Probably rightfully so. Move on.

I live in florida, and this whole thing is now a media circus. It is "retarded". Sure the idiot with the gun was wrong, but that little punk really was a gangster, wana be thug. He would of grown up to be an upstanding gang member, and top notch criminal. Is everyone ignoring that fact? get over it.

I see it as a delayed abortion that should have happened years ago.
