Lady Antebellum

Can somebody say, "Best. Prom. EVER!"

Lady Antebellum has selected Indiana's Henryville Junior-Senior High School as the winner of their "Own The Night" prom contest and will be performing on May 16 in Louisville, Kentucky's KFY YUM! Center for the student body.

The school was severely damaged by a tornado on March 2nd, which has forced students to resume their spring semester in an industrial building 10 miles away. After the private performance, the country trio will hold a public concert to raise money for a local disaster relief fund.

Hillary Scott, the lady in Lady Antebellum, shared her excitement with sources by saying:

"Helping rebuild this community is our biggest priority right now. We were so moved by the stories from Henryville High School but also from the students at their rival schools who raised their hands and said they wanted to help."

The rival school she's referring to is Silver Creek High School, which submitted a video to campaign for Henryville's selection. Senior Luke Gillenwater explained his case in the contest entry:

"Now, don't get me wrong, we would love to have you at our prom, but there's another school in the West Clark family that deserves it more than any other school in the country."

So cool!

It's nice to see that teenagers are willing to work together for a great cause like this. Gillenwater and his classmates' selflessness is truly inspiring! Thanks for being awesome, guys!
