P.T. Anderson, the director of celebrated films like Boogie Nights and There Will Be Blood, is releasing a new EPIC of a film titled Master.

Master will be released on October 12th, 2012.

The incredible cast features players such as Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Amy Adams, and…wait for it, wait for it… Joaquin Phoenix!!!

Anyway, the film is a 1950s-set drama centered on the relationship between a charismatic intellectual known as "the Master" whose faith-based organization begins to catch on in America, and a young drifter who becomes his right-hand man.

Guess who the right hand man is - wink, wink. We'll give you a hint… it isn't Phillip Seymour Hoffman OR Amy Adams. Or is it????

Lolz!!!

Rumor has it the film takes some not-so-subtle jabs at L. Ron Hubbard and his creation of Scientology.

The soundtrack will be produced by Johnny Greenwood who's the lead guitarist of Radiohead.

Cue our screams — AHHHHHH!!!!

I personally can't wait for this film to come out. I hope enough research was done to do justice. The scientology story is one that simply must be told.

The movie is NOT about Scientology. They have already stated that They're just using Scientology bashing as a marketing ploy to get people to see the film.

Sounds boring to me. Wont be seeing it.

Yup. I auditioned for a small part in this film as one of the 1940's burlesque queens. Didn't get the role but the CD & Anderson's people were very nice. I know they had to be super secretive about this film (they were calling it "Untitled Western" for a while) because they didn't want any backlash understandably. I mean after all it is just a movie, albeit probably a great movie since Anderson is known for great movies but a movie just the same. People get so freaked out over stuff, needlessly. I bet it is gonna be awesome.

Re: ritamiller – I think you are right I think there maybe some similarities between Scientology & this film's story line but my understanding is that it is ficticious.

Re: ritamiller – They can't make the movie directly about Scientology, or else the profit-driven corporation that calls itself the "Church" of Scientology would sue and use all kinds of dirty tricks to delay production. So it seems to be a story based on L Ron Hubbard's crazy antics during the 1950s, but with names and events changed.h
Too bad really, because the actual story of Hubbard's various con games, lies and occult dabblings would make a great movie as well.

My brother recommended I would possibly like this blog. He was once entirely right. This put up truly made my day. You can not consider just how much time I had spent for this info! Thank you!
