Chevy Chase And Community Creator In NASTY Feud! Actor Might LEAVE The Series!

Wow. This is BAD.

Although Chevy Chase plays the inept, sometimes-villainous Pierce on Community, it appears that the actor himself may not be any better than his fictional, sitcom counterpart - and a feud between he and series creator Dan Harmon has escalated so much that the future of role on the series may be coming to an end!

According to multiple sources, the actor has been notoriously difficult since day one, and walked off the set of the series on the last day of shooting last month without filming one of his scenes - the apparent close-out of the series finale - for which he claimed to not have received the script, while other assert he simply did not find it funny.

Later, during the wrap party, Harmon reportedly got up and not only scolded the actor in front of his wife and daughter, but encouraged the cast and crew to join him in saying "fuck you" to him! In response, Chase left the party, and left his boss an equally nasty voicemail, which has now leaked onto the internet!

Listen (below)!

Yeesh! NOT. PRETTY!

Especially as you can hear people openly laughing on the recording of his voicemail!

Obviously, Harmon had a good time letting others listen to Chevy's message!

Such a shame, though! Pierce is a fantastic character, and if he ultimately gets the boot because of all of this, he will certainly be missed!

But honestly, we're more concerned with the fate of the series than we are with Chevy's involvement with it! We just want it back for a fourth season!

What do U think?? Team Chevy or Team Harmon??

Chevy Chase has been notoriously difficult for his entire career … many of his former SNL castmates don't speak kindly of him saying he's self-centered, and his Celebrity Roast was very awkward because not many celebrities attended because he's not well liked in the industry. I've heard him in a few interviews and his ego is pretty hefty. So it's not surprising that history is repeating itself.

  2. 2

oh no! This is such a bummer… don't people know yet that two wrongs don't make a right? Surely thee is a better way to deal with a difficult actor, ugh. Ugh to both of them, it would be a total shame to lose Pierce!

  3. 3

Pierce is the one character of the group that is expendable. Douche.

  4. 4

March 31st is the new April 1st.

  5. 5

He's rarely featured on the show, so who cares?

  6. 6

    April Fools?

  7. 7

Chase's character is completely expendable. If he can't learn to chuck his ego at the door then who needs him?

  8. 8

He's way to good for a stupid sitcom anyways. I love Chevy, and would watch anything he was the star of…. But there was not enough of him in there to justify watching it week after week. Will he find anything better to showcase his specific talents? I don't think he can find much worse. Get the hell out of there Chevy!!!

  9. 9

    TEAM HARMON!!!!

  10. 10

No loss. Chase can't act; the scripts are his life-support
Jane Curtin would be much funnier as his replacement. Hey, now that I think about it, John Lithgow, Mike Farrell, Ed Begley Jr or Alan Alda for Pierce!
    Team Harmon 2!

  11. 11

Chevy has never realized how lucky he has been in his career. He's marginally talented - no loss for the series, he has been difficult his whole career - surprised anyone would want to work with him.

  12. 12

I grew up watching his lampoons movies and his funnies, he was my dads favorite funny man. But I've been told he was a jerk in real life. I don't know for sure but the voice mail proved it, lol - Honestly, I've never really liked him since I was always told he was such a shit face in real life.

  13. 13

    Male-a-pause much Chevy??

How in the world can anyone be shocked? Chase is a NOTORIOUS asshole.

  15. 15

He is such a nasty piece of business,I think maybe about 40 years ago he was funny on SNL, but than he started doing movies, than he decided he should voice his political opinions, very rude, very disrespectful,
I believe the only reason he got the job on Community, was because he had not worked in a while, and Harman felt sorry for the old has been

  16. 16

Never cared for him. Not on SNL or any movie he's ever been in. Love Community, wouldn't miss his character a bit!!!

  17. 17

chevy is a huge star reduced to a shitty show but u dont talk down to a star u cherish them and u bend to them or this is what u get .. i think this voicemail is hilarious hes a male diva u dont talk down to them young or old .. god doesnt anyone get to be a star anymore without getting crapped on … anyways we love his movies

TEAM CHEVY! Dan Harmon is the biggest douche and the writing of Community has gotten awful. Chevy is dead on in this message even in predicting that Harmon would play it in front of his crew of yes-men and yes-women (nervously laughing the ENTIRE time to make it seem like his assertions had no merit when they do). Chevy Chase and Ken Jeong are the backbone actors in the series, and like I said, the writing was always shaky, but is just ridiculously bad now. If you doubt that Dan Harmon is a fat douche, just find any of his social networking feeds or blogs and see if you still feel the same way. It is ridiculous that someone like Harmon (not funny, bad writer, dumb) would attempt to condescend to Chevy Chase (hilarious, long acting career, legend). Dan Harmon is an idiot with zero talent and I can't wait for Community to be cancelled and his career to be over.

  19. 19

I am a notorious fan of Community. Chase is right that the writing has gotten worse. It sounds like both Harmon and Chase handled the situation badly.

  20. 20

Low class thing to put Chevy's message out there. If Harmon is suppose to be the leader of the show, that's a pretty douchey thing to do. They both seem like assholes.

  21. 21

Pierce is a non-factor… if he leaves it isn't that big of deal. The rest of the cast is the heart of the show. I say ax Pierce and give us more of the Dean! :)

    1. last few episodes have sucked. Pillow or blanket fort? Come on.
    2. Chevy isn't that important to the cast. I started watching because of Joel.
    3. Putting Chevy on the spot at a party in from of his family is BS. Grow up. If you don't like Chevy, fire him, but act like a professional.
    4. If you are going to leak the phone call, leak the entire thing. It was cut off.

Not a fan of Chevy (or his filthy vm) but find Dan to be pathetic. Get rid of both of them and keep the rest of the cast.

  23. 23

Horrible attitude. He is a butthole to everyone on the set. Loved him in the Lampoon movies but can no longer watch anything with him on it because I know he terrorized the co stars, director, cameramen and writers before and during filming. So sad.

    24

Chevy would know what's funny. His whole career was comedy. Why not listen to him and write something for the ending that actually was funny to all? Chevy shouldn't be treated like a peon, nor should a cast be held up with no ending by walking off. Does anyone in America actually work together anymore, or is it all about one upmanship now?

Is this Harmon displaying yet more leadership here? How did this message get leaked? Shakes head.

I'm a really big fan of the show and I'm not bothered about Pierce leaving the show. He annoys the hell out of me and would be glad to see the back of him.

A bit of publicity for a struggling show?

I think Chevy is right that the writing is getting bad… like I don't laugh as hard anymore… But I don't think Pierce is expendable, I think he should be the bad guy though. Troy, Abed and Chang MAKE the show. I'd watch a spinoff with Troy, Abed and Annie.
