We've almostall heard the voicemail now — and if you haven't, you can hear it here.
The huge feud between Community show creator Dan Harmon and comedy legend Chevy Chase has been brewing for quite some time. It resulted in an expletive-filled rant from Chase, and has left the actor's place on the show in limbo.
Which sucks, because the show is basically as perfect as possible right now WITH Chevy on the cast. We just wish people weren't so difficult to work with!
Anyway, there has been some new information to come out since we posted the original story.
Apparently Chevy walked out of a key scene… during the FINALE. That's unprofessional and all, but he's not 100% to blame — apparently Dan has been pretty terrible at getting scripts to people, and a lot of the cast goes into shooting in the dark.
Dan Harmon has also been responding to twitter backlash like this:
"Nothing warrants what you did to Chevy in front of his wife and daughter. Chevy may be a d–k, but you're no better."
Harmon tweeted in response: "Very brave and sensitive of you! Absolutely ingenious topic to pretend to know anything about with just the right audience."
Here's what an insider has to say, too:
"Chevy doesn't remember his lines, so we have to make cue cards for him to read. Also if things aren't going well because the script is changing so constantly, Chevy gets mad and wants to go home—and does go home. Basically, you're balancing two prickly people."
That and the fact that Chevy has some really diva antics going on, and is constantly demanding more lines, even though he doesn't remember the original ones.
There's gotta be a better way to handle this, on both sides. Not only that, but drama like this in a time where the future of the show is uncertain DOESN'T MAKE SENSE. Do you guys NOT want the show to survive??
Who do U think is right here??
