Hunger Games Director Gary Ross Might Not Direct Sequel

Hunger Games has tallied over $363 million at the box office.

The top stars such as Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson are all signed for the sequel.

Seems like a no brainer to bring back the original director for this monster hit, no?

Wrong.

Sources say the director, Gary Ross, is seeking a significant bonus over the $3 million salary he had for Hunger Games, but Lionsgate has taken a hard like stance in the negotiation process.

Lionsgate is not used to paying big money for seasoned directors and Ross previously did Seabiscuit and Pleasantville.

Lionsgate has mentioned previous films such as Twlight and Harry Potter who did not use their original directors for the whole series, but we personally don't think they should risk breaking up a good thing.

We'll see what happens.

Do U think Hunger Games would be just as good if not better without the original director?

Great movie but I fucking HATED the shaky camera!!!
    That pissed me off
I wanted to see more of District 12 and how Katniss lives but anytime they would shot it they shook the camera…wtf?!?!?

I think it would be better without him! The best parts of the movie are the story (obviously) and the actors! I could definitely do without his shaky camera work.

It couldn't be any worse, that's for sure.

I think it'll be better without him. How about a director that will use STILL cameras. The story was good. The camera work was HORRIBLE. I HATE the "documentary" type filming that has become trendy these days. Makes for a craptastic movie!

YES PLEASE!!! Ross runied what could have been one of the greatest movies ever. How about making the movie 3:30 hours long; keeping the very important details in and holding the camera still on the kill shots!! I don't think that is too much to much to ask for?? Those who read the books were NOT that happy with the movie!! Yes it was ok, but it could have been soooo much better. His vision for the film was NOT what most fans had in mind. The movie was too rushed!!! PLEASE GET A NEW DIRECTOR

i would really like to watch catching fire on how katniss view things like how she observe the arena and the place in the hunger games..i hope the camera for the film or might i say the director should follow that trend huh..
