After seven minutes of discussing fluffy stuff like football bets and his grandchildren, Kiefer Sutherland got down to the meat of his interview with David Letterman on The Late Show and revealed that the 24 movie is still moving forward!
"It was very difficult for us to get a script in order. We had done 200 episodes of the show. To try and create some kind of a finale for us in a two hour film was difficult, but we finally got that in order and now we've just been juggling schedules."
That's inneresting, because last month we heard that this project was basically dead in the water because of financial disputes over the size of Kiefer's paycheck AND the film's budget.
Either way, if Kiefer is going to go on a talk show and discussing the production status of a 24 movie, he must be pretty damn sure that it's going to happen…eventually. Now that producers have a script, they have to secure actors and a director from "a very small pool." The star of the FOX television series continued to explain, "I don't think we're going to make it in the window that I was hoping for."
That window was six weeks in his mind, but eight months seems to be more likely for
the finances will fall through again production to begin.
We're taking this with a grain of salt, but we sincerely believe Jack Bauer can do anything he puts his mind to…as long as there is a constant ticking clock reminding him to HURRY UP!
