Hey New Yorkers! Do you like drinking? Of course you do. Do you like watching movies? Who doesn't?
Well, get ready for an inebriated state of mind because Alama Drafthouse Cinema has announced its first location in New York.
Featuring five screens, the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema will be occupying the former Metro Theatre at 2626 Broadway on the Upper West Side.
Remember the Alamo!
Founder and CEO Tim League said:
"My often-stated top priority for the Alamo Drafthouse has been to open a venue in New York. When we discovered the availability of the historic Metro theater, we immediately knew we had found the perfect location for our new Manhattan home."
The Alamo Drafthouse brings the food and drink directly to the patron's seat, so you don't even have to get up! But no commenting during the movies as the company has a strict no talking policy.
Sounds like our kind of theatre!

TEXAS REPRESENT!! — Alamo Drafthouse is the best thing ever!
A local bar by my house in Ferndale does this two nights a week. It's in the Detroit area. They serve you beer while you enjoy a movie.
This is the only way I see movies anymore. Decently priced tickets definitely worth it!
Love these theaters as they have a promo with Ann Richards saying if you talk she'll come there and kick your ass!
Their food is top notch and very reasonably priced!
Of course they started here in Austin, TX!!
the alamo draft house if my fave theater. What is even better is that it is 18-over. I won't go anywhere else.

I LOVE the drafthouse, but the prices are really expensive and the food sucks. I love that they don't allow children in the theater though and they bring the drinks to you
Umm the food is very reasonably priced and very good
NYC already has a movie theatre/bar in DUMBO Brooklyn called reRun Theatre that plays awesome indie films with beers on tap and buckets of bottles along with tons of popcorn and food options. Best part is you can "drink and drive" because the stadium style seating is all made from the backseats of old vans!
